The one and only time I had a Windows machine infected was some malware that got installed without my knowledge via Java Web Start. I have never let that be on a computer of mine since. I've never had that happen via the Java plugin (which, BTW, I don't allow to run by default in FF and Chrome).

I won't use Chrome again until there is a reliable way to prevent extensions from auto-updating. I got tired of finding out "surprise!" that something that worked yesterday is no longer around because the extension has gone "pay".
I didn't find them slow at all. However, I would have loved to see real 2nd and 3rd generation characters, rather than inventing life-extension and keeping the same old group around.
All those great new features... "and more"! I can't just wait to install the very first version of their completely re-architected software on my system to find out what "more" they will do to me!

Grouping Hybrids and EVs together is just dumb. They aren't the same "type" of car. (and in my book, the Volt is a Hybrid).
I've been driving a LEAF for a year and I hope to never go back to a car with an ICE. Free fuel (solar and charging at work) beats cheap gas every time.
We're really considering replacing our 10 year old minivan with a Model S at this point. The space inside that car is incredible.
Try the OsmAnd -- open source app that uses the Open Street Maps data. Better than any of the proprietary sites and apps. Offline support is excellent.
Lots of people should find torrents of popular movies and just get the "README" or "NFO" files in them, but not the actual movie. That way, when they get your IP as a participant in the torrent and to sue you for (downloading &) uploading the movie, you will have nicely defensible case.

Why were the removal instructions provided as a word document? They couldn't just have a simple web page with pictures?

The paper cited only describes the vulnerabilities in terms of being researched on Android. Nowhere does it say that iOS cannot have these problems.
I didn't even see anything to this effect in the CERT postings.
