  1. Skeptical on Automagic No-Fly-Zone Enforcement · · Score: 1
I understand that this of course is not the end all solution, although I still don't understand what protects someone from hijacking a plane and crashing it into a stadium. I'm not a pilot so I'm not sure exactly where the "no fly zones" are, but as far as I know that doesn't include major cities, especially ones that contain a major airport. I'm also not sure, but is there ever an emergency situation where one would have to cross into a no fly zone?

overall the idea seems practical, but I'm sure it would need some kind of overide protection, which completely eliminates any point to the protection.

Perhaps some kind of monitor on the piolet, like a retnakl scan to operate the plane, and measure pulse, so in the case that the pilots heart races (or drops) the plane sends a silent alarm, and can be remotly controlled

  2. Miles Or Kilometers? on Explore Mars with Maestro · · Score: 5, Funny
When creating the activity plans, is it miles or kilometers? Wouldn't want to crash into anything

Overall Looks like an interesting idea, they should look into putting it in schools. Could be a very educational "toy" to play with.

Perhaps a "before you buy" pamphlet. or possibly a waver that you have to sign, saying that you know what this game's about and that you take all responsibility of making sure that "minors" do not play or you accept responsibility for any actions taken by minors. I know that walmarts accross canada are checking for ID, there computers automagically ask for ID. Although, this is one retailer and any kid can go buy it somewhere else.

And even in canada A&E brodcasted the entire 50th aniversary edition of playboy, which is availible for anyone who has cable. But it's not even just Porn, there are a lot of shows/movies that contain more and more violence that are getting a rating of PG.

Perhaps parents should look at themselves before blaming the babysitter (video game / TV / Movie)

20 people sharing a single dsl/cable line would not be very practical, so you would have to factor in the cost of a faster internet connection.

    Do enough people have 802.11a/g

If you go with 802.11g router it will support both b/g and if you go for a 802.11b router, almost all 802.11g cards will support it.
Although, 802.11g built in cards, (most new notebooks) from my experiance have a hard time connecting to 802.11b. As for 802.11a, forget it, because no one will have a card for this, and it's rare that there is any compatability, because it using the 5 ghz frequency

Isn't fixed wireless in the states actually pretty expensive?

Isn't internet access in UK expensive to begin with?
And what's the cost on the wireless adapter that suports this frequency?

Looks like the rural citizens are going to have to take out a second mortage and sell the cows to be able to downloadd ROTK in less then 3 days!

  7. Attaching a Console on Cross-Platform Video Capture Cards And TV Tuners? · · Score: 1

This past Christmas, I recieved a PS2 I've delt a lot with the hauppauge, emuzed and blackbird tv tuner cards, and of course they all have their perks. Although, i have not had much luck hooking up console's to them. Gameplay just isn't the same, not sure why. Admittingly I've never attempted this in linux. The best solution would be to pick up a cheap TV or my favorite the Commodore 64 monitor! But if you're heart is set on the TV tuner the ati all in wonder seems to be the way to go!
