  1. Control 4 & Crestron on Automated Dorm Room Causes a School Inquiry · · Score: 1

I like where he is going but dislike the disregard to safety in a dorm room. I've spec'd out Control 4 and Crestron/Lutron systems for homes that do just that and without the danger.

  2. Re:Good luck on First-Sale Doctrine Lost Overseas · · Score: 1

You are a bit off about renting and landlords. You aren't renting a PS3, XBOX, etc. you are buying it - The hardware, software on it at the time of purchase and controllers. When there is a problem with it, you can't go back to the parent company and ask them to fix your broken part. However, if something breaks in the house you are renting, its up to your landlord to replace it and provide a decent (depending on your local code) safe living environment. Its a bit similar to hiring an Architectural Design/Build firm to design and build you a house, which you paid for and live in, but when you want to paint the walls a new color, the design/build firm has the final say. Moreover, the design/build firm can come into your house and change the layout, equiptment, couches, paint colors, for better or worse, because its 'for your own good' as they know best because they are the design professionals and you are not.

  5. New plot I heard..... on TSA Changes Screening Based on Blog Suggestion · · Score: 1

I agree with the above and also noticed how the TSA contradicted themselves concerning liquids. Complete BS, do they get a kick back from the airport vendors on the other side of security? Also, its amazing that one poorly built non-functioning shoe bomb is now the reason we take off our shoes.

Regardless of that past non-sense, I have heard of a more serious threat - the bra bomb. I heard that they could be wiring women's bras and now I am rally concerned for my safety. I propose that the TSA now have all women remove their bras and place them on the x-ray machine for a proper inspection. Because who really knows what kind of 'wired' bra they might have on.

Also it will make my waiting in line much more enjoyable ;)

  6. what i don't understand on Chinese Moon Photo Doctored, Crater Moved · · Score: 1

with all the high powered telescopes, land and spaced based, why cant we point them at the moon and find the rover, flag, space boot prints, etc that was left over from the landing? its not like the moon has shifting sands or such (or does it? ;)

i have a 2002 jetta tdi and i get about 45 mpg on avgerage. it is an automatic thou. very happy with the car. i do with they would get the less sulfur diesel gas in the states. mpg would improve and we could get the better diesel engines :) and the tdi sport that they have in canada as well as the merz diesel.

i hear good things about the bio-diesel mix. its current sold around the cape in a 80%(reg diesel)-20% mix. its a bit of a drive for me to get it but was wondering if anyone is using it and if the milage has changed?

  9. free information on Kazaa Offices Raided · · Score: 2, Interesting

I know of a great place which has greats amount of information for free. this information is about various topics and covers all formats; books, magazines, tapes, cds, movies on dvd/vhs. I fail to see why i cannot copy music from the library to mp3. I can always go there to get it and then rent it for two weeks. why cant i have a copy. moreover, why cant i send this copy to my friend. he is a taxpayer. he also has library card. cant he get the same music? what is stopping my from borrowing a book, copying it by hand and mailing it to my friend? isnt it similar to him going to his local library and taking out the book? I can see a problem with this if i was then charging again for it, but im not. I think the riaa, miaa, mipa, etc should go after the real source of free information, your local/school/etc library. with all this free information on the loose, its a direct threat to our capitalist lifestyles and way of life. remember you're nothing with the new and improved brand y thingy-mabob. so help out the riaa/etc and take a torch to your local library. i think there was a cool book burning see in indiana jones and the last crusade, but it might have involved some nice german fellows in uniform.
