Back in the late 1950's a bunch of rebels who worshiped the Greek Goddess of Chaos, Eris, put out their manifesto...it was called the Principia Discordia, and you can see an electronic version of it at Fnord.org. It's copyright means that you can reprint what you like...at tad bit more liberal than GPL...and it has been propagated by the Ancient Illuminati for thousands of years before this book. And it is endemic in the computer field too...ever wonder why telnet uses port 23? Why DNS and BIND are words that are also commonly used in the Bondage subculture? And why do computers do such a good job at running Chaos programs like Fractint? By consulting the Principia Discordia, you can find out why...and become illuminated yourself!

If, indeed, the DOJ calls for the breakup of MS, what is there to stop them from collabourating "behind our backs". As well, it could become a Tech-support nightmare:
"MS-Office Division, may I help you?" "Yes, I can't delete this psychotic paperclip from my desktop after running MS-Office 2001:A Space Gobbler" "I am sorry mame, oh sorry, sir, that is a bug in the operating system, please call the MS-OS Division at 1900-suck-dry"
"MS-OS Division, may I help you?" "Yes, I can't delete this psychotic paperclip from my desktop after running MS-Office 2001:A Space Gobbler. MS-Office Division says it's a bug in the OS." "I am sorry mame, uh-excuse me, sir. That is not correct, the bug is in the Office software. Please call MS-Office Division at 1900-dry-suck"
WP has had a lot of acceptance in the legal field because of it's ability to create large libraries of standard verbiage for legal documents. A lawyer can create a iron-clad contract for hundreds of different situations simply by picking the correct verbiage macros and typing in the specifics. It takes them all of 10 minutes to do so. Once you know the system, and you know that it is thoughly debugged, why change? And since WP corp made sure that their software fully met the specifications of it's customers they have no reason to change. Hey, imagine that, listening to customers and giving them what they want rather than dictating autocraticly what they will get!
Is it a Director's cut? Subtitled? And hopefully in Letterbox! Can't stand the translations of this wonderful movie! I hope the add back in the scenes that they cut for the theatrical release...
I put both/home and/usr/local on their own partitions...that way I can wipe the current version, and upgrade to a new without loosing anything. If I have a package that *NEEDS* to be installed somewhere else, I just add symbolic links to where it wants to be. I guess, in some ways, I am treating/usr/local link the/opt dir in Solaris/SunOS.

No only are Computers badly represented, but so are Pagans. How may times do you see a Witch represented as an ugly hag, or able to change their hair color with a wave of their hand?
Witches, Druids and other Pagans are like everyone else, except they have a different belief system.

The reason that they can't use the JR "Bob" Dobbs head is that the Church of the Sub Genius has TRADEMAKRED it, and they go Nazi on anyone who attempts to make use of it. It's really simple. If you web site has one of those snazzy agreements with Amazon, cancel it, and tell them that until they put that patent into the public domain, you will buy telling your web site patrons to buy their books at Chapters, or Barnes&Nobel, or any other online book seller.
Furthermore, you should lobby the web sites you frequent to do the same, for example, Slashdot.org!
Let's see the Slashdot crew walk their talk, cancel their agreement with Amazon, and tell them to renounce their patent!
Yes, how typical...Clarke has VISION...Nanotech will be the end of the world as we know it...THANK THE GODS!!!!!
No more worrying about hot to feed people, no one will have to work if they don't want to. The Producer class will disappear, and those who are of the Creator class, those who Discover, or out of the Chaos pull new Ideas will be those most revered....Creativity will rein supreme, and mediocraty will become an endangered species.
Those with wealth will no longer be able to control the world. Those with VISION will. I would much rather have people like Arthur C. Clarke running the world than people like Clinton or Bush jr.!
I was reading Arthur C. Clarke and Ray Bradbury at that age. Frankly, I became interested in Neo-Paganism when I started studying Quantum Physics in High School.

One thing that the author of this work should remember is that ESR is a PROGRAMMER. And that gives one a different perspective from a writer. I don't see that the article invalidates TC&TB, but simply explains it. Bezroukov tries to make a case for the OSS movement to be modeled using the existing system in the Scientific community. Personally I think that they both come from Celtic societies concept that your worth in the community is based upon what you contribute to the community. What is even more interesting about Celtic society is that the knowledge worker class (the Druids/Bards/Brehon/Senachies/etc) were the most highly regarded. In fact, a Druid's "eric" (no pun intended, this is the actual word they use) or "honour price" is greater than that of a Kings. A Druid could walk into the field between two armies and stop them cold in their tracks if he/she felt there was sufficient reason to. And, yes, there were both male and female Druids.
Again, being a practicing Druid, and Celtic Reconstructionist, I see the OSS movement in terms of what I know, just like Bezroukov does. Doesn't make either of us, or ESR wrong, just different.
Today, there is no real difference between a "liberal" and a "conservative". It all depends on the polls and what will elevate their ratings. Once the old generation of politicians die off, those terms will be obsolete.
One thing that really gets me is the price of these computer conferences, especially Linux ones. I've help run and/or attend SF cons up and down the East Coast and across Quebec and Ontario. Some of these events bring in guests that charge thousands of dollars for speakers fees, vast amounts of convention space and using up most or all of the rooms at local hotels. We have hospitality suites for all members with either cheap or free beverages both alchoholic and non, munchies, and stuff like hotdogs and pizza pockets. We have up to 5 tracks of simultanious programming and free static displays for local clubs. And more often than not, a wonderful program book.
We have all this, and we don't have mega-corperations buying huge tracks of land...and how much do we charge? Max $50.00. Who is making all the money?!?!?!

Actually most Pagans don't use numerology...in fact, I would say that more Christians and Jews do so.
As well, Paganism, being a recognized form of religion deserves to be Captialized when mentioned, just like Christianity or Judaism.
Most numerology is based up the Jewish holy books and the Kabbala. Christianity borrowed from the Jews (like they did most things) and created Christian Kabbala. In the late 19th and early 20th century, groups like The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn did a great deal of research and various members published a number of books that are considered some of the best references today.
One of the formost writers on the subject was Aliester Crowley.
