you mean hollywood accounting, corporate welfare give aways, rich company oil / ag / pharma subsidies, among other ways companies and the rich don't pay their fair share of taxes? You will notice that these kinds of changes are only happening when it shifts the burden more on the middle class and the poor.
based on microsoft's track record I don't think I would trust them with my data, both reliability and privacy. And I am not sold on the new marketing "cloud". Mainframes have their place, but all the problems with them did not go away just, because they renamed then "the cloud". No on cares about your data as much as you do.
I had a choice to buy Android or iphone and bought iphone. If I had it to do over again I would buy Android and my next phone will more than likely be Android.
microsoft driving people away from their OS just means they will use Apple or Linux for their desktop OS. Companies running their businesses badly (like hp and best buy) are just running their businesses badly. Until someone can convince me how I can get as much done on some other type of device that is not a PC I expect the PC is dying about as much as the automobile.
Oh, and you do realize "the cloud" is just dumbterms (mainframes) all over again right?
the riaa has been a horrible failure and instead of embracing technology to make their Customers happy and maximize their profits they have been dragged kicking and screaming pissing off everyone in the process. If Apple had not saved them from themselves they might have been dissolved by now. As a business, if I looked at what the riaa has accomplished for me I would certainly end my association with them.
actually, I know lots and lots of people that go to Mexico to get their prescriptions filled. And Mexicans are coming to the US for work, not health care.
I doubt the UK or Sweden have ever spent so much effort to extradite someone for "questioning". People need to stop pretending that this is anything else, but the US Government trying to get Assange for this work with Wikileaks.
Assange has changed the game. People run governments and Assange has exposed that they are vulnerable when they don't act in the interest of their people. The cat is out of the bag at this point.
ea is tanking because they are treating their Customers badly. You only get a short term boost in profits the way ea is running their business and after you damage your brand as badly as ea it is more or less ruined. I see ea on game and just skip it without learning anything more about it.
I disagree. ea has great IP, but they are so hostile to their Customers they chase away business. If someone that loves gaming bought them and fired all the upper management, put them on the path to mend fences with their Customers their profitability would return.
Unfortunately, those who have the cash to buy ea would more than likely be more of the 14 year old MBA crowd that has run ea into he ground.
remember with the US use to make fun of communists for their "show me your papers" paranoia? tsa is UnAmerican.
I have yet to see anyone thrilled with the tsa treating them like a criminal
you realize that jews and christians are doing this same type of crap, right?
because facebook has been around for 100 years and nothing like myspace existed before them?

People in the textbook business should be ashamed. A reasonable profit and getting as many people textbooks that want to learn should be a goal.
And from a monitory standpoint, education is the single biggest payback society can invest in.
you need to lookup what a straw man argument is. This is a very nice example.

not sure I need that

Hollywood accounting is stealing. Interesting you have said nothing about that.
greed is not clueless. Most of these people got theirs before they left.

Then maybe the riaa would be dissolved. They don't add any value to music anyway so that would be a good thing.
You must not know any UK expats.
everyone I know stopped using them years ago.
funny they are now trying to say that ubisoft's corrupt business practices that I refuse to be a Customer of is piracy.

much bigger problem.

ea crapping on their Customers has lead to them selling the company. That is what day-1 DLC gets.
