  1. Announcing the U.S intranet on Imagine A UN-Run Internet · · Score: 2, Insightful

Well then, we just have the US intranet. We only export those sites who wish to be under the UN's thumb. I find it very difficult to have respect for governments who think they need to control the information their populous sees.

The FCC is more and more becoming nothing more than enablers for Monopolies. Here is 2003 have we not yet come far enough as a society to where the government doesn't fight monopolies with one hand and grant them with another. Monopolies are NEVER, EVER, good for the consumer or public. It will be a breath of fresh air the day I see the phone and cable companies have their monopolies revoked. It's just damn unamerican. /soapbox

I had an excellent experience at university of Phoenix Online. While I did experience a couple lazy instructors, there were requirements for daily discussion and interaction with other students about the material. This led to a situation where the material was covered in great depth almost in spite of the instructor.

  9. Re:NOT A GOOD IDEA on Contactless Credit Cards · · Score: 1

Let me address your points individually: 1. No, someone could not charge every CC in the world. There is a small computer inside the card and two way communication is required. There is no way for a satalite to charge cards. 2. EMF if used in a mall right now would scramble the mag strips on existing cards and probably screw all the cash registers. No difference.
