  1. No surprise here on Man's Vote for Himself Missing In E-Vote Count · · Score: 1

Computers are just not designed to accept input and increment numbers. Its hard enough to keep track of a couple numbers, but imagine how difficult it is for a computer to actually increment those numbers. This stuff is more science fiction than reality. Computers are just not ready for this type of task.

Dvorak is fricken idiot. Linux will be 'cracked' by Microsoft? What about all the other hundreds of companies with closed source commerial products that run on Linux? Did they hack Linux as well? I'm not sure why what this guy says is important enough to be on Slashdot, he obviously can't even grasp the basics of what Linux is, and the GPL for that matter.

Pelosi has already stated her "100-hour" plan to go all out in instituting her so-called San Francisco values in the House. Tax increases and more social spending, even bigger government, never-ending partisan investigations and subpoenas, removal of the embryonic stem cell research federal funding ban (that's a whole other issue, but suffice to say it has always been about money and nothing more...only cord blood and adult stem cells have ever yielded any research results) and so forth.

Cite your source please, I've been checking Wash post, Times, Salon, etc I can't find anything about any of those things. Can you elaborate on some of the points you made?

Tax increases and more social spending? What?
even bigger government - give examples
never-ending partisan investigations and subpoenas - give examples
removal of the embryonic stem cell research federal funding ban - thank god, now you don't have to go to Sweden for decent medical care
only cord blood and adult stem cells have ever yielded any research results - Are you kidding?

But, isn't it painfully obvious to everyone that the only people that dispute scientific studies that say convervation is needed, is the people who stand to lose money if conservation actually happened? Oil, fish, forests, clean air, water. Time and time again scientists, people who have dedicated their life to the subject tell us things, and Joe Shmoe fish factory owner says its bull shit because the 'ocean is big' or something like that. Seems like we're really easy to fool. Here we have a finite resource being depleted faster than its being replenished, yes people on slashdot argue that it will never run out like they don't understand the word 'finite'.

Sony is pushing PS3 homebrew development big time. They are building an entire community around Linux PS3 development. This is not normal Sony behavior for sure but, its in their best interest to do so. They are HEAVY Linux in the office ($1 to Microsoft is an investment into Microsoft) and basically, it revolves around the idea that the PS3 is going to be more of a personal computer / home entertainment / gaming box. At E3, Sony exec Izumu Kawabishi said "Because we have plans for having Linux on board the PS3 we also recognise Linux programming activities and we'de like to see various individuals participate in content creation for the PS3". The advantage is that more people will understand the architecture and create cool software for it. Its going to be sweet.
