not just that, but you also have to consider that flash memory also has a smaller number of reads and writes before failure. the industrial grade units tend to be higher but are extremely cost inhibitive for this application. given, if you do hit the limit, it's probably time for a new player, but it's a better argument against flash than claiming flash's 1000G as an argument for it. modern hard drives are a great deal more robust than their older counterparts, I still wouldn't go tossing them into walls, but if you plan on dropping and trowing your player then you probably should get a cheap flash one anyway as the housing, screen and connectors will most likely be destroyed in the types of impacts that modern hard drives need to fail. and before someone pipes up with random hard drive crashes, flash is just as, if not more prone to crashes as hard drives, I've seen a large number of flash drive that are simply no longer readable.
I read the headline as "Windows installed in 12 minutes" and hurredly clicked the link to see how I could save hours out of a work week and weeks out of a year.
Alas, I read it again and see not only 1:it's a dupe, but 2: it's not news, this has been the case for years
I quite possibly could be, although i think someone may have used them all in a sentence before, why i hear those words used together frequently around march every year in pubs.
there already was a mac TV, but even if they did come out with one again, it would be something like iTV, but would probably look very cool

most banks and financial processing facilities do indeed run a fairly heterogeneous environment, usually focused around a central mainframe(typically an s/390 box), the smaller organizations may use a cluster or maybe a task-based group of rs/6000's, I worked at one of the largest financial processing firms in the world for awhile, and they ran everything from NT4, to solaris, to linux, to HPUX to AIX, to os390, and then some, many of the appications used are CA programs, or homebrew apps, you would really be surprised how many homebrew apps can be on a system in such an organization. typically, upgrades are handled by a combination of in-house staff and Manufacturers via support contracts, very rarely will one group do anything without the other there, unless it is something like a memory replacement on a non-vital system.
i can say this though, where i was at, a 15 minute delay meant at least one head would roll, a couple days was not an option.
i've only been doing this for about 10 years: http://www.coochieology.com/temp/IMG_0165.JPG
this is one of the origional concept seats for the oldsmobile bravado, completely stitched by hand, then the handle for reclining is made out of prototyping resin. the next one is a captain's chair from a toyota sienna(with integrated cup holders!) although the idea of integrating it into a desk is great, i like mine for being able to use it with any desk, and also as a stand alone chair(i scoot it around my apartment for using different gear)
yes, but how quickly can it format the hdd? oh wait...that's a hdd speed issue, not a memory/processor. ummm....quake, that's it, QUAKE! yeah, how fast can it run quake? oh wait...it's a server, i'm guessing no geforce...hmm.... so if i bought one of these, will it keep track of all my contacts and sync with my palm? that's what is really important to me (man i hope i get at least a 1 with (funny))

Actually, I prefer to get my measurements in more pallatable measurements, usually in burning library of congresses
