  1. Re:Gee golly on Hardware Manufacturers Making PC Gaming Too Elite? · · Score: 1

It's in no way required. If you want to play the big-buck high-end games, go ahead. You should expect to pay for it, you should expect to have to own the best out there to handle the most graphic intensive games out there. If you have a problem with that, there are enough ROMs online that you could enjoy Nintendo games, Sega games, and Flash games for more hours and cheaper then the new Graphic Intensive game will be. And the required upgrades are good in that they drive the previous good cards, the next to best, down in cost fairly well. We're looking at a drop in price on cards that will be great for the less affluent gamers. Right on.

  2. From a CU guy on Cornell Implementing Bandwidth Charges · · Score: 4, Interesting

From observing my friends, my enemies, and even thine professors here at CU, the CAP comes because of the incredible usage. With 500kbs and up transfer speeds from Cornell to elsewhere, it was bound to happen. Geeky friends have topped 20 GB of transfers in a night, and secondary computers used solely for storage on the network at not unheard of even in the dorms at CU. Currently, students are charged over $45 dollars a month for the use of Cornell's Uplink to the internet in dorms. Next years plan shows that this cost may go down, but so will the allowed bandwidth.

  3. Jeez, have an imagination on George Lucas May Be Completely Evil · · Score: 0, Flamebait

He's a protocol droid. How many others are in all the Star Wars movies? How many would there be otherwise? HUNDREDS! THOUSANDS! AT LEAST ONE FOR EACH LANGUAGE! It does say in the article that Lucas says his memory is fried. In Star Wars novels, C3P0 and R2D2 have many many many adventures on their own, going from owner to amazingly crazy owner. Its not hard to imagine neither recognize each other. And R2D2 is only recognizable because Lucas makes him so, cause you don't see a lot of other R2/R4 units that are blue and round.

I disagree with the tongue thing, but I like Jar-Jar because its more than a single dimension humanoid. I like seeing idiots succeed in life. Perhaps its a selfish concept, though.

  5. Its just a photo of mom on George Lucas May Be Completely Evil · · Score: 1

All he's probably gonna do is show a little clip of Natalie Portman in an upset mother stage after Anakin does something terrible to leave her and she has to hide the children before she dies of grief. It'll be a short clip, nothing bad there. What's wrong with Jar-Jar? He's a comic relief, but he's required!
