Stuff like this IS probably illegal in the US. However, the company programming this is in Hungary, according to the Wired article. Gonna be fairly tough to put any lawyers against them here. Legislation against this stuff won't do much good either. Foreign countries don't much care what our congress legislates and passes into law.

Well we should just bomb there collective asses then.

Sci Fi never makes it to the top sellers list? What about Michael Criton and Stephen King? Sure it may not be hardcore sci fi but the romance novels that make it to the list aren't hardcore porn. The Hardcore stuff is unpopular in a lot of places.

  8. Tax on Taxing Sci-Fi Products to Fund NASA? · · Score: 1

This is pointless. How much revenue could this possibly bring to NASA? A few million? How about we shave 1% off of our massive defense budget and send a couple billion over to NASA? And while we're at it we could shave off 1% more and feed most of the hungry people in America. We need to spend less money on failed spy games, meddling and trying to play cold war and more on helping research, education and wellfare.

It seems as though its weather that would prevent us from using the earth as the primary solar center. Also it seems we are already exposed to microwaves as part of industrial radio, cell phones and other high frequency output devices.
The plan involves sending small manufacturing groups to the moon to both mine on the moon and use the supplies to build the solar bases. Kinda like MCV's(mobile construction units for all you non C&C players out there).

I on the otherhand think its just a secret plan created by doctor evil to put a "laser" on the moon.
