If your ISP doesn't have data caps, look at Backblaze ( http://www.backblaze.com/ ). $5 / month for unlimited storage for one computer. Only available for Mac and Windows, but I'm sure a virtual instance of Windows if you're using a Linux box would work...
These are the folks that opensourced their hardware design for their storage "pods." http://blog.backblaze.com/2011...
The best thing in the pack (other than the free Windows) I received was a package of 10 reusable grocery bags. My wife was honestly more excited about getting those than she was about the Win7 Ultimate.
Honestly, the easiest way to avoid debt is to avoid it in the first place. Why do students take out $30k in loans for a school that only costs $6k per semester? It might not be the easiest route, but I worked all through school, and tried to pay off all the debt I could during the deferment periods once I graduated.
I can honestly say that I am almost done with a Masters degree and have a total of $3k in debt that will be paid off before I graduate.
Maybe I should sell a book... Then I could pay off that last little bit and move on to pure profit!
I guess he and Darl can cook up theories in prison together about how IBM is secretly owning the world, and how they put a secret chemical into every keyboard to make you addicted to the internet.
I mean, it's the next logical step in this case, isn't it?
Better go through and rewrite my OS so I can make sure that nothing goes into RAM...
Guess where I'll be for the next 10 years? My wife is going to kill me...
I'm a licensed teacher - Social Studies, not Math - and I've seen many district personnel changing how tests are delivered or graded, simply to make sure that the school is meeting the NCLB standards. As a Social Studies department, we were asked to make certain questions easier to understand, or to eliminate hard to study areas all together in order to make sure that the results would be up to where they need to be. Math teachers in my district have complained a LOT that the district is forcing them to dumb down the tests simply to make sure that scores are where they need to be.
Kids aren't dumber, they just aren't given the opportunity to fail. If they aren't given the chance to make mistakes, they don't learn from them, and unfortunately, that is where the NCLB is leading us.
It's a holiday. Everyone that posts informative articles is probably off wasted because it's their one day off this month.
That's also probably why this article made it through with no link - one too many shots of tequila to celebrate Memorial Day........
You quit your job when your wife told you not to. Been there, done that, not a good idea.
Suprising as this might be, yes, there is a Slashdot reader with a wife.
I wish I had the type of job where I could just try to beat records on old games, as it is, I haven't played a game in ages.
Some people just have all the luck. Where's mine?:-)

"So long, and thanks for all the fish."
How many billions have been tied up with his threatened takedowns of everyone and their dog who ever looked at Linux?

Chicken Little got it right after all.
Off to my bomb shelter. Let me know when it's all over.

I'll believe in a re-bootless Windows box when the Cubbies win the series... Until then...

If anyone knows where you can find info on the PocketPC chips, any and all of them, for iPaq's and HP's old Jornada, That would be appreciated.
