Yeah, who cares about people. Why should goverment care, as long as they pay their taxes so they can pay their lawyers. Lets just make it a nice dictatorship so we can live so forever!
I guess not everyone wants to see a BSOD on their server. Yes NT, W2K and XP do crash even on the desktop. Servers tend to have more workload that desktops.
1) Linux - 1991 (development started)
Windows - 1985 (first public relase)
2) Linux is not a graphical shell like Windows 1.0 so you have to compare Linux to QDOS (the OS Microsoft used to make DOS from).
3) Linux IS ready for the desktop for most uses.
Yes, people should be paid for the *work* they do. Does this mean that they can not be paid for creating free software. People and companies that need some kind of software should pay the programers to write it. Why should everyone pay for the countles rare used features of MS Word, the endless comercials?
Copyright law today is just sick. Companies have the right do everything, the people who really make those things have to give them to their employers. Companies are good for producing physical things, they should stay there. I wouldn't like to give away the rights on things I have created just to make money for living. Also copyright is obivously too long.
I fully agree with you that most shareware isn't worth the money. My point by making the post was that GetRight isn't the best shareware out there, like someone said before me.

Because we can pay goverments to make laws that alow us to terrorize people?

Have you ever used Windows Commander?
If you use the BSD license you *are* doing that. Think about it.
