I honestly don't know what happened and I don't see how anyone can say they know for sure. A lot of conflicting testimony and of the only two people who know for sure what happened one is dead. I can see why the police chose not to arrest him to start with, there was no way they could convict with the evidence they had. The prosecutor pulled out all the stops since a conviction would have given them a sure career boost but they never really had the goods to get him given the fact he had top notch legal talent to defend him. Prosecutors are used to easy cases against overworked and less experienced public defenders.

For someone that just wants to have a job for something to do 60 hours sucks. He had his career and at 62 he retired to enjoy life some. He just wanted a job for something to do occasionally and maybe make a little money on the side as well. It was never his intention to end up working the rest of his life away. My real point is that if you are a good worker management will take advantage of that to work you as much as possible, especially if they can do it as part time.

I'm not sure why government is still in the marriage business at all. Considering how people marry, divorce, marry, divorce, etc. it has become a joke. Why not just do away with the silly paper and all that. If you want to buy a house together then do it. When you're sick of each other sell it and split the money. Why go through all the rigamarole anyway? If you want to go and walk the aisle with someone do it. Get a preacher or get your next door neighbor or get an Elvis impersonator to do the service of your choice. I got married 33 years ago to a woman I love dearly. I don't stay with her because of a scrap of paper with a government seal on it.

The feds are pretty much incompetent at almost everything. The only thing that works is Department of Defense who's primary purpose is to blow things apart. Even they can't seem to buy new hardware without 3000% cost over runs although I think that's actually more of a corruption thing. All we need now is to completely federalize health care which should do wonders for ending the danger of overpopulation.

My brother retired from a supermarket where he was the meat market manager. About 6 months later he found himself sitting on the couch gaining weight and decided to get a job to have something to do. He got a part time job at another store and worked there about a year before quitting. The reason? His part time job went from 30 hours a week to 60. They were working him to death and he couldn't get them to let him take time off. He had to quit to go fishing.

Losing a war equals losing your freedom. To fail to do what is necessary to win means that while you maintain your purity everything you were fighting for is lost. It's a conundrum but really survival is primary. After survival you can turn to other matters. In this modern day case I don't think things are as dire as they were when Bobby Lee was roaming at will up and down the Shenandoah Valley. Back then the people in DC could hear the canon and see the bloody bodies being brought in to hospitals. Under those circumstances I think maybe desire to survive would naturally overcome a reluctance to violate privacy.
