Hahahahaha...damn stop it! You're killing me! I see the damn overpriced things everywhere. I own a Samsung 5" media player that I bought when I saw the iPad had no SD card slot and it was only 200 bucks and fit my pocket. I love it but even I know that there are iPads everywhere you look. If you haven't seen one it's because you lost your glasses.

It's not that people hate Microsoft. It's that Microsoft acts as if it hates it's customers.

  12. I wouldn't. The biggest companies are so big they can do what they want with impunity. Small companies mostly seem to actually give a shit about their customer's opinions whereas the big ones generally seem to say "take it or leave it." If the small companies start to take market share the big companies either drive them out of business or buy them out depending on which is easier at the time.

You ignore one obvious truth. With FOSS no matter how unlikely someone will look at the code it actually is a possibility that it will happen. With proprietary software there is no chance in hell. None. Nada. Zip! All kinds of nastiness hidden away and everyone knows their little nasty secrets are secure behind closed source. Proprietary software guarantees this kind of stuff will without any doubt happen. FOSS gives you a chance at least.

I learned to stand up for myself. No one has power over you that you don't let them have. If someone who I don't respect calls me a name or says something mean to me it is less than nothing to me because I have no respect for them. If someone who I do respect says something nasty to me that might be different but it has never happened. My Father did on occasion say hateful things to me out of frustration and I admit it did bother me some but I realized that he didn't mean it and I pretty much just blew it off. He did apologize later. I don't understand how something someone says to you can cause that level of pain I hear about. How can something meaningless have so much meaning? I have to say I can't understand it. Words have no power unless you give them that power.

I agree with you. Once someone has served their full sentence, to include the probation period, they have paid their debt to society. They should be fully reinstalled in society with all rights. I don't like the way so many things are called felonies now as well. Good people sometimes make mistakes and to have a lifetime of second class citizenship after serving their sentence is wrong.

I think the primary thing with illegal workers is that they take cash money. There are no taxes paid. Generally for labor they get paid somewhere around 10 dollars an hour cash. That works out to about 14 dollars or more equivalent when you consider state, federal and social security tax out of a normal paycheck. Much better than minimum wage.

I hear what you say but honestly I'm like the guy you responded to. I make about 60 grand a year and live pretty well, especially once I got my kids grown and out of my house. I've always had a job though so I've really been blessed. I was on employment one time in the last 35 years for about 11 weeks but other than that it was all full time employment. Where I live generally there is plenty of work and anyone who wants a job has one although it isn't always what they like nor high paying. My son started working right out of high school at a hardware store then a chicken processing plant then a cold storage warehouse where he has worked his way to supervisor at the ripe old age of 28. I can tell you that without Mexicans and other Central Americans this place would have a labor shortage. A severe one. I hear people bitching about illegal immigration but without it businesses would be hurting.
