Yep. Don't act like you are married (or expect your significant other to) when you aren't. If 8 and 1/2 years have gone by without making a serious commitment like marriage, you aren't the one, just the one for now (or the one until a better one comes along).
The fact the she was open to meeting someone new tells you everything.
I'm married and I'm committed to my marriage. That means that I don't go looking for new people to get into a relationship with and I am not open to that possibility with people I meet.
AOL not only stores your search results, but they also know exactly who you are. Also, I have it on good authority that AOL saves not only your searches, but every single thing you do. Every site you visit, every click, every email you send, everything.
...that everyone here seems to have missed the point.
...the suit seeks to stop American Express (NYSE: AXP) and Discover from extending credit for Internet gambling to California residents.
It doesn't say anything about him wanting to not pay (don't get me wrong, I'm sure he doesn't), but in fact it seems he wants to stop it from happening to other people. If the AMEX and Discover are violating the law and inadvertantly helping the Online Casinos, then I think this suit is generally a Good Thing.
If you did get "The Letter" from Red Hat, you still have a chance to reconfirm. Call an E*TRADE broker and ask him/her to reconfirm your offer. Make sure that you utter the phrases affinity customer and directed shares program.
I just called (and mentioned the affinity program) and spoke with a very friendly rep who said that since I got the letter and called (at 9am pacific) all was ok. He in fact asked if I wanted to get in for a few more lots of 100 shares. If only I had more in my Etrade account!
At any rate, tonite we should find out who gets the directed shares.
It seems that E*Trade has done everything in their power to screw the "little guys", as represented in this case by the vast majority of those targetted for the Directed Shares program.
Well, please post anything you find out. I wonder if they have any obligation to notify people in a timely manner when this sort of thing happens, and if so, what their responsibility might be.
So, if I'm understanding this correctly, the people that don't get up early today will lose their chance, even though they got the invite and setup an account and jumped threw all the stupid etrade hoops?
I'm sure there is come legal requirement for this, but it seems rather fucked.
This little guy if perfect for putting on your desk with your computer. It has 1/4" inputs and Radio Shack has all the adapters you need. $99 is worth it.
"no objective person could reasonably have concluded that the commercial actually offered consumers a Harrier jet." Um sorry, but most people are just plain stupid enough to believe that. Look how many people think the Blair Witch Project is not fiction. As far as the judges other point: "Since each jet normally sells for $23 million, Wood said the possibility it could be bought for $700,000 was the first clue that the deal was 'too good to be true.'" Uh huh, so the average reasonable person is expected to know how much a military jets costs. I say he should get the jet. There wasn't an * or anything else to indicate that it was a joke.
These guys have been distributing Red Hat Linux (Special Macmillion Edition) for some time. In fact, that was the only Red Hat they have had at my local Fry's. Perhaps they feel that Mandrake is more suited to first time off-the-shelf buyers. At any rate, it always nice to see linux in big distribution channels...:)
Yes, hum indeed. A simple (and quick) solution is often to ground the VCR to the AMP. I used some 10 gauge speaker wire running from one of the chasis screws on the VCR to the Ground Point (where you'd hook up a turn table) on my AMP. Wham, bam, no more hum.
Yes, would someone be kind enough to write an appropriate email on why this sucks, that we can all copy and send. With nation-wide ISP's, they won't know that some people don't live in California. Let's all rally for privacy!

Norway man, its fun!

This is very scary. Of course, this makes me wish that Zero Knowledge would hurry up with a linux client.

What about a nice PCMCIA controller on a card? Seems to me that they have 'em pretty cheap now.

Well, I just called my asseblywoman's office, and they said that a lot of people are calling to complain. Once can hope, I guess...
