a band that has said it doesn't care about people downloading their albums, as long as they don't make a profit on it... they've actually released concert bootlegs for people to download - legally!
they do understand that the more people listening to their music the better - they are one of the bands that "gets it". the big issue here is they're worried about unfinished demos hitting the internet and people getting a wrong taste of their new album. this isn't a band that is worthy of slashdot bashing.
so how does watching the super bowl make me a "good american"? and why make some little snide remark like that? is there any point?
and for our european friends who think that advertising and all the pomp is just ridiculous in american football, for christ's sake, the advertising on soccer (read: european football) is just as bad! christ, their uniforms are walking billboards!
i just fail to see the point of this post. to rip on an american sport, just because you maybe don't like it? or rip on the state of the american pshyche(sp)?
if you're that "good" and can kill a process on someone else's network, how about you use that excellent knowledge and contact the owner of the machine?
hacking (don't paint it any other way, you're breaking into someone's system) someone else's machine is not the answer. the system is not any more secure after you've killed it's process, it is still wormed, and the most important thing is that the admin of that machine hasn't learned a thing!
but then what do i know, i'm not a security expert...
its very sad that we have people who would actually use and abuse a system put in place that give freedom to people who have REAL AND WORTHY ideas. all we hear now are the people who ruin the system for everyone else.
but if this really pisses you off, go to http://www.youmaybenext.com and help out if you like. its a site with good info on this jacka**.
of all the bands to bash, you're going after u2?
