I present myself as evidence against your theory.

I grew up playing on my Atari Video Computer System (It wasn't until years later when it was released with new packaging that I heard it called 2600 - maybe around the time of the 5200 introduction) and kick much butt on my PS2 at my favored console games (usually polygon fighters when it's time for head to head competition).

Insightful and well said. I only disagree with one small part:

Tbhe industry doesn't HAVE to do anything - they don't care if the format is doomed to obscurity. Sony cares, and maybe there's something they have to do, but I'm not sure what that would be, or even if there is something they can do to save the format at this late stage.

As a related aside, I am a PSP owner who owns no UMD movies and has no interest in owning any.

I probably should post this AC, since it's pretty far from on-topic for the story, but I prefer to be able to know if someone replies to my posts, even if they're OT.

Well if that's an essential element to "staying objective," then you're absolutely right - There is no justification at all for calling ID religion that doesn't also apply to any branch of science.

However (and I may be risking losing my objectivity here, but) to most people, when trying to determine whether something is science or not, the scientific method is not moot.
