Firstly the post is not off topic, it is informative, the post to which it is replying is ill informed and that surprisingly has not been hatcheted. It is merely trying to educate and enlighten the ignoble pubescent who couldn't see the humour in my original reply. Secondly one would have to assume that the moderator is as equally uneducated and of a similar head up arse disposition, one could mistakenly assume they are one and the same or at least from the same closed gene pool.
Is all well and good, but supposing his campaign was funded by an evil megalomaniac software magnet with dishonourable ambitions. Said person could then get their hands on the source code then we'd all be up up shit creek.
Microsoft seem to have shot themselves in the foot again. Sys admins will be gleefully rubbing their hand that they can finally rid their networks of Windows. If the madness of Licencing 6 didn't give them enough leverage to persuade their bosses away from microsoft, incompatibility with their servers certainly will. Also this rather gives an advantage to developers outside the US, what amusing buffoonery will they bless us with next?
If those funny guys who came up with Esperanto had patented it they'd be rolling in it now because obviously we would all have to speak it if they had patented it.
What could be acheived if one billion dollars was spent on this technology to improve the lives of people with disablities? For example perhaps a person without the use of their arms may be able to feed themselves unaided just by looking at what they wanted to eat, perform their own personal hygene merely by focusing on a bar of soap. The spin offs could be amazing one human being could take the life of another with the slightest glance. I'm amazed by the blood lust here.
For this system to work there must be at least as many givers as takers, as we all know in real life there are always more takers than givers.
