the system google uses to distribute power in the shares gives the founders the actual power, though. not the stock holders in the traditional sense. I don't think they would so eagerly let their baby fall to the whim of shareholders in it for the money.
a bridge(2 port hub) aren't that uncommon. Ethernet cables are only able to go(roughly) 100 meters, if your 2 computers are farther away than that(say in an office building or something), then you need a bridge to clean up the signal so as not to become unreadable.
"You can't take a comment like that at face value. A lot of Mac users assume that everyone else also uses a Mac, primarily because they, personally, have never used anything else"
This isn't marked as trolling? I have never met a mac user who thinks most people use macs... They all know macs are the smaller market, some make excuses, but they all KNOW they are vastly outnumbered, but they(I) don't care, they enjoy their macs. And for not using anything else? I don't have hard numbers, but there is a clear trend of new users going mac, not just old users buying anew.
how about just add some neato plugins for firefox, and donate some code? have a gmail plugin with thunderbird, and have it all work very well with Google.
True, Google is expanding. but look at it from another angle...
1. Google News and Froogle are direct offshoots from Google Search(i believe News uses the search engine). 2. Most people don't even know the Google Social Network software exists. 3. Gmail uses many of the same technologies that already exist in Google Search for parts of Gmail. 4. Blogger was bought by google and has stayed very independent from them, in many ways.
Google needs to diversify, they have to. To the vast majority of people, google is a search engine... wether that seach be for lowest price, pictures, or text documents, you go to google.com to FIND things.
yet the advertisements are clearly labeled and set aside from the results. to my knowledge, it is impossible to 'officialy' buy search rankings with google, and itshould stay that way... They are a company, and they are free to make money... They do so buy having a keyword system that will give ads to results, but not mix them with the results in any way.
In the 'old days,' however, Baseball pitchers pitched much more often... Cy Young, had as many as 50+ games pitched a season, and topped at 35 wins in his career... Stats Page... A 20 win season is a big deal now, Cy almost had twice that...
they ARE worth the cost, and the pains people go to to run macos on non-apple hardware just further shows that it is worth extra effort to get to run the system.
i am writing this on a 1ghz 12" powerbook with vpc 6... should i dare setting up pearpc in win2k, and trying to install OSX 10.3 on win2k in vpc on OSX 10.3?

if you think computer users SHOULD be held accountable, then why arn't those grandma's and ma & pop computers running windows 98 that have been used as a inbetween for the launching of spam and viruses?
Computer users can't be held responsible for the security and actions of their own computer... Esspecially if Microsoft has no responsibility for Windows' security.
someone should back port super mario brothers from the SNES to the NES... that would be badass... use the original sprite/bitmaps from Mario Bros. 1...
Mute or Waste? Both open source, both currently working. Waste is a private network, so only your friends are in it, or you are referred to a network, rather than joining a global network... Mute is a public network still in early beta...
my website has a waste network for those who want to give it a try.
is look for keywords any different than looking for 'spam' words(and how often they occur) any different? In one, google tries to make some small ammount of money on a free service, the other, bayesian filter have a (supposedly) higher than human accuracy at times in filtering out spam....
They don't 'read' your email, they search it for keywords. there is a difference. Your email is 'scanned' maybe half a dozen times, besides all the routers it goes through along the way.
Quit your whining, this isn't an invasion of privacy.

that was when nintendo has multiple GUIs going for zelda, they settled on cel-shaded... this 'adult' look is not going to be pulled at the last minute, this is the artwork you will see in the game.

google searches don't return 'ads sprinkled throughout their search terms', the only ads are off to the side, and clearly labeled.
i think... the shutdown should do a close window command.
and by the way, do you think they will add and apps that were a 'must have' from the era? maybe a game or two?
the benefits of having a mac, in their and my mind, outweigh the troubles of using VirtualPC as a way of running windows-only software.
