I would add to that the following: 1a. Keep the ISS as a close, scientific outpost, for easy testing of 0g and science experiments. 1b. Then, make a second station, this is the fatory, longterm, station. (there was a slashdot on this i think) This would be the station deeper into space, somewhere around the halfway point from here to the moon. This is the launch pad for deep space missions. 2. A new, sleek, cool looking shuttle (just because). 3. A cheaper way to get materials into space.

The machine that won the match originally geared specifically to counter Kasparov and new his past games.

They should have this machine on the internet to play against, say, 50(not to overwelm it) people online at a time through a browser.

freedom is not openning code and requiring(!) that everyone else that uses that code must also open their code.

In the USofA we are free... don't argue, just go with it... we have this Bill of Rights and the Freedom of Speech, That freedom doesn't say "You can say whatever you want as long as it's nice" it says that we can say things that other people disagree with, we cannot threaten the President's life, but we can openly disagree with him. That is freedom, giving someone a right(code) and saying "here ya go, do what you want with it, even if i don't agree with how you use it".

PD and BSD are like this, you can take that code, and use it however you want... FREELY.

The GPL is saying "Take this code, but you can't close it, you have to leave it open. That isn't free.

  24. I own an pocket pc... on Palm Kills Off Graffiti · · Score: 2, Interesting
And I must say, compared to the several palms i have used, pocket pc is just better.

    Grafitti-like
The recognition is not much better than on palm's grafitti, but pocket pc's recognition is software based, inthat, instead of that box at the bottom of all palms where you have to write, pocketpc can hide that box whenever you want, just by hitting a button. I get about 70-80% accuracy with the grafitti like system(lifting your pen off the surface can can make unwanted letters to popup). This is the best system to use for me.

    Freehand Recognizer
As part of that freehand input, you can run a notepad like program in pocketpc, that lets you write on the screen, and then "recognize" your handwritten notes. Very cool, but not all that useful, about 50% accuracy (not worth using regularly).

    QWERTY Keyboard
Pocketpc also uses that software input box for a keyboard that is quite useful to use. Not as productive as a full sized ofcourse, but decent typing can be done by hunt-and-pecking. I would say about 85% recognition, but it is slow, accurate, but slow.

    Transcriber
I have a third option for my pocketpc. Transcriber is a microsoft program that lets you write in free hand on the screen and takes it as any other input(similar to notepad, but usable in any program). It is more of a novelty than an utility as regocnition for it isn't great, but the program idea is quite cool. Around 60-70% worth using, neat to have, but a novelty.
