Well then I will be the first to say it. 50+ bucks for a game is too much for me, but I will still buy them, once in a while, if they are overly great. An average so-so game is in no way worth $50.
The same goes for CDs. I will buy them, but only the ones I KNOW are very good and I KNOW that most(2/3s) or all of the songs i atleast somewhat like. I am NOT going to pay 20-friggin-dollars to buy some pop cd with ONE questionably "good" song on it, and 8-12 other songs that are halfass at best. My expectations of a cd is that I can put it in my car, or discman and listen to it straight through and be happy. 20 bucks for anything less is utter crap, and i won't pay for it.
...and most importantly, the Clies have a QWERTY keyboard! That is crucial, since, heaven forbid a user might get tired of trying to use the very high quality recognition software and would rather Push A Button.
The only thing I might possibly try to wish for is Sony making a clie model which folds on its wide side(like a loptop) rather than its narrowest side(like a... sony clie?) ofcourse this laptop style clie would have the keyboard flipped accordingly(like you would see on a laptop) and the screen would still be able to flip over top the keyboard to have a traditional allscreen pda.

the entire idea of PCMCIA cards is that once that cool new technology comes out (10/100/1000 ethernet cards(gigabit), usb 2.0, bluetooth 802.11z) you don't have to replace your laptop. You can just buy a card.
All the computer guys in here know that building a computer with builin everything(video, sound...) is a less good than buyind a pci card that you can update later.
PCMCIA cards give you the cool features of tomorrow without having to replace the whole box.
heh, i found the perfect article that deals with this topic. Suppose aliens find the probe we sent out in the 70's. They see the message we put on the probe and they try to decypher it, but how? It is a very interesting read.
i would agree that with a possible 'classic mode', longhorn or whatever could severely break compatibility and classic mode would be able to run most xp and prior software. this is actually good in that MS atleast has a chance to drop whatever crap they don't like but had to keep due to compatibility.
as for a darwin core. while i can't gaurentee a free and open unix-like kernel, i can gaurentee a closed, expensive NT-like kernel. that is sorta similar, right?:)
the key has a rediculously high encryption, i believe it is 1024. well, maybe that isn't rediculous, but it would be more hassle than its worth.
You can lock the segway up through the wheel spokes, or around the main bar. I assume it would lock just fine around any bike rack... as it is a beefy wire that wraps around something.
recompiling "notepad, calc and solita[i]re" every single day seems just silly. how many times has the code been change from win95 to xp? any revisions would be done all together, which is on average likely less than a day every year(considering the release cycle).
save 5 minutes of the 12 hours spend compiling, leave notepad alone.
so who has a better _free_ service that has good mail filters, a nonobscure website name(no user_name@sfoadfe235.com ), and the ability to check email through outlook express. I have been looking for a decent alternative and would love some feedback.
1000 spam messages? sheesh. While not perfect, Hotmail does provide it's own filters, while not cool and adaptive, with its free service. Things like hightened security settings, only allowing addressbook emails to send you mail(all else is deleted), trashing anything with keywords(10 filters), blocked email list, and a few other options to get rid of spam.
I have seen the GBA and think it is almost perfect.
I have seen the new clamshell gameboy, and doubt that I will even consider getting one.
The GBA is just the right size, the only upgrades I need is a backlight and a slightly high resolution. A better screen(in those two aspects) would make this an awesome handheld game system... oh, and maybe a few more buttons, 2 just seems so... few:)
..not to be a toll, honestly these two feature, atleast the spellcheck are implementable and very useful in answering all the griped users have of the questionable editorial practices.
I own a pocketPC jornada 547. It is sorta cool, but I not something i need.
What is holding it back, in my opinion, is the lack of a killer app. Wether it be a better input method(speech, or more likely, freehand input(newton?)) or cheap internet(cellphone/bluetooth). Porting a desktop app to a pocket is great and all, but pocketWord just feels funny. Maybe something that really belongs on a handheld and not some bastard child of a real app.
wouldn't these small fields be ideal for the plane taxi idea?
The idea: instead of having big planes(727 and such) connecting to big cities(chicago) and then take another plane to the city you want to go, why not get a smaller plane and connect directly to the city you want. There are suppose to be these great benefits to it.
package them however you want, as long as I can click a pretty little icon, which opens a dialogue box and an install button. I don't want to _have_ to use the command line to install something. If it is an option, then great, but 90%+ of every type of user would rather just click a button and tell the software where to install to.

no, we don't need them. But for me, going from IE to Moz, tabs made me stay. It made me stay through crashes and bugs that Mozilla has had because tabs were that friggin cool. Need them? No. want them? Heck ya!

Exactly! You had me scared in the first paragraph and had me thinking "Who the hell would post this on Slashdot?" but you ended on the right note.

Shortly after ALICE was ported to the palm and the pocket PC systems, respectively. :)

1. Gameboy Advanced $70
2. 5Gb Ipod $300
For 370 bucks (around or cheaper than most "highend" pdas) you get space than any(!) palm and better games to boot!
Simple Answer: You can watch HDTV on Linux.
Now all I need is an ascii version. Then I'll be all set.

currently, mac osX does not support OpenStep. I wonder if Apple will add support for these cool features into their system in the comming versions.

I am innocent, and I shouldn't need to prove it.
