I consider it better. I think in some thick HTML it's probably easier to see. But on the other hand, changing it now seems problematic. -Andy

I'll stick to my favorites: C (not C++), sometimes perl, and the occasional java. The features and benefits of the Delphi would be more attractive if the language wasn't so weird. Okay maybe weird isn't the word I'm looking for. Hopefully it's better than C# though (for the .NET stuff). I'm kind of hoping that one will fade.

That link probably won't work unless you're computer has a subscription to nature. Sorry. I forgot. But anyways the article I linked to was by Huber, et. al. and is in the May 2, 2002 issue of Nature and is titled "A new phylum of Archaea represented by a nanosized hyperthermophilic symbiont".

  8. A genus! on New Species Found in Central Park · · Score: 0

A new genus is impressive, but even more so is a new phylum! Remember it goes Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, then species.

For those who aren't familiar with archae, they are single-cell creatures that carry characteristics of both prokaryotes (e.g. operonal gene function), and eukaryotes (e.g. some genes have introns). They're pretty weird little things.

Although I have to admit, it is pretty cool they found the genus/species in NYC. Of all places.

Hey that's remarkable. I lost weight too (200 => 160ish), but I did it by only really cutting candy and soft drinks from my diet. I don't cook; all my food is from restaurants, so I have little clue as to what's going in me. What I mainly started doing was work out 5-6 days a week for 2-3 hours. You win. Definately an easier road to wellville, and no women have told me I look 'really good' at all. Oh well. Andy

Now I guess this can be another reason why I'm not one. How come it seems like those guys are always so skinny though? The article mentions the high-carb diets in the Caribbean and Africa contribute to a lot of obesity. Well how about asia? My roommate is chinese, and I don't think he eats anything without rice. He's not fat at all. My analysis sucks, but shouldn't there be a huge problem with obesity in asia?

  13. Changes I'd make to make it a halfway decent flick on The Matrix is Reloading · · Score: 0

What was Keanu doing in the movie anyway. Too skinny. I think a more accurate computer-programmer-loser-geek-hero-god would have been played by Dwayne Johnson aka "The Rock". Other replacements: Hugo Weaving was good in TLOTR, but didn't anyone get sick of how... slow... Mr.... Smith.... talked? Get Chris Tucker for the next Mr. Smith. Since the dialogue isn't very memorable anyway, throw in Jackie Chan to be Chris Tucker's sidekick. Carrie Ann Moss? Again. Not convincing as a computer-type geek girl. Get Carmen Electra, Denise Richards, or Jaime Pressly. Lawrence Fishburne as the ultimate freedom-fighter. Nawww. Clearly that was the role Adam Sandler was born to play. Oracle? Maybe Kelly Hu can reprise her role from "The Scorpion King". OK now there's a movie. How about those hideous costumes? Obviously if they could have their choice of basically any clothing they want, they'd deck themselves out like a rap star with gold watches and diamonds everywhere. Well that's how I'd like to see things done, but I'm sure it's not hapnin. -Andy
