The Merriam Webster definition of censorship is
the institution, system, or practice of censoring b : the actions or practices of censors; especially : censorial control exercised repressively
A private enitity can practice censorship. It used to be that we used to just worry about government censorship because they were the only ones with power enough to block all access. You are correct in one thing though, it is within the rights of the private entity to do this as long as they don't violate a contract.
But we know all the contracts between individuals and large private entities are heavily weighted towards the private entity. So through the laws passed by their lobbying we are handing a lot of power to these private entities.
Seriously People. Companies are an absolutely enormous part of what makes the U.S. possible.
That is true. But they are now have the rights of a person which was never the intention. Corporations were supposed to exist by the pleasure of the people. Their charters were supposed to be revokable. Now they seem to be above the law. They have the same rights as you or me, but at the same time they are not subject to the law the same way you and I are.
An extreme example is murder. If I knowingly or unknowingly create conditions that lead to someone's death, I will be convicted for murder or manslaughter. Yet people die directly from products created by corporations and what happens to them? Usually nothing, maybe the consumers will sue them, but the government never levies a punishment equal to jail time.
I want to switch over to Linux, but between a full time job and going to school I just haven't had time to devote to a switchover. I am trying to get my company to switch machines over to Linux so I can learn on their time.
Uh, hello. Actually read the article before you comment. They are getting rid off the old style engine, transmission, and braking systems. So instead of having 1000 lbs of metal to do the work, they an electric engine at each wheel.
By your logic, plasma TV's make no sense because CRT TV's have had 50 years of refinement.
Here's an idea: How about not doing it until you have a powerplant that at least comes close to matching the efficiency and performance of a gasoline motor?
Match efficiency? Everyone knows that the problem with fuel cells is performance and it looks like thay will beat that by the time they release.
Product placement would be great. Instead of having a show that is interrupted every 8-10 minutes, it would be a continuous show. Apparently Hollywood already thought of this in The Truman Show. Remember how the whole show was for sale with products placed everywhere.

believe in angels (72%) and the devil (56%).
Odd, looking at the world you would think more people would believe in the devil.
