The big question is what was worth killing 238 people for (the airplane is most probably still intact, the passengers however, was probably killed when they climbed to 45.000 feet)? While an airplane like the 777 clocks in at $250 million, it's probably only going to fetch between $25 million and $50 million as spare parts. One does wonder what was in the cargo; military equipment? Dollars? Perhaps a passenger was carrying high value trade secrets?
Perhaps someone is planning to stick it in a building at some point in the future (even worse, load it with a nuke - damned thing can easily be disguised as civilian traffic and can fly around the world and place it where ever they want...)
BS. Just because you are a startup doesn't mean you can't get competent programmers.
And whatever happened when the company started, doesn't change the fact that they had half a billion worth of bitcoin when they got screwed; with little to no security in place. as I said, it's more impressive that they didn't get run over before.
Why high up? Most articles about Mt. Gox talks about lax security and bag change management.
They had half a billion dollars worth of bitcoins, a "currency" which is extremely hard to track and ridiculously easy to steal if you have the keys to the city. Stealing half a billion dollars (without being a bank) requires a truck and some heavy lifting - a developer stealing the wallets and nuking the database takes only a few seconds and very little lifting.
I find it harder to believe it took so long for someone to steal it...
When you make a statement like: "travelling salesman in 4 lines of code", it generally means the entire problem in 4 lines of code, not a function call to some built in function and a couple of array initializers.
Now, had the submitter written something like "Hey check this out, it has some really cool functions build in", that would have made at least some sense.
Apparently a simple comment can cause quite a stir.
I'm very well aware that religion is not a race, however, when you have a bigot like the one I replied to, his world view is splitting races along religious lines.
And apparently everyone seems to miss my point - Civil unrest, riots and probably civil war in case of The Ukraine are happening around the globe right now - and spot on predictions for said events.
My point of the post was that it's not just the middle east having the darndest of time keeping their population down, rest of the world is currently plunging towards war.
Currently there are massive riots in The Ukraine, Venezuela, Thailand; signs of growing civil unrest in central Europe - reports of riots in Brazil; All countries of course known for their muslim leadership...
You don't seem to grasp just how much energy one degree change is. We are not talking about your local body or your local city, it's a whole friggin planet that has risen one degree over a very short period of time (again, planetary scale, not human).
It is most likely very bad, what should be worrying the crap out everyone is that currently less energy is being deposited where stuff happens, we have been on a cooling trend in the El Nino cycle and the sun has been unusually "inactive" - signs are that the El Nino cycle will change, which means a lot of the heat the oceans have trapped will probably be dumped back out. The flooding in England and drought in California are just the briese before the real shitstorm hits us.
Then you probably should stop playing games - pretty much all online games with a bit of weight behind them have some form of active anti cheat software running. They will not only be scanning your files, but also actively checking memory for mischievous software.
And that was years ago when I was playing - I can't imagine their scanners are less intrusive these days...
If beta goes live people will exodus slashdot, granted no more fuck beta posts, but on the other hand, the people whom you want to have a discussion with will have moved on, leaving you with spambots.
What new design? Oh you mean the one that isn't on classic.slashdot.org? I was half way out the door back then when they allowed us to switch to the old design.
If Beta goes ahead, there will be a mass exodus, the slashdot user base isn't the average "uh shiny" consumer.
A couple of Danish newspapers are doing the same. Just install Ghost incognito addon for chrome, hit that ghost when you get tagged by a paywall, chrome will then automatically switch to incognito when you visit those sites, clears out most paywalls.
Note, research have shown that insulin levels are unaffected by aspertame.
Personal experience, I used to drink a lot of sugary soda, was overweight, but nothing compared to when I switched to artificial sweeteners; also I find it much harder to keep a diet if I drink any form of "diet" soda.
Actually, Diet cokes will most likely cause you to gain weight - the coke itself has no calories, the sweet sensation will however trigger your body to believe sugar is incoming and since none is, it will cause you to sugar feel hungry, which will trigger cravings for your sugary drugs.
The checkword, you put in your pin when you set the application up, it shows you "banana" (or car or pink or whatever maps to your pin - obviously the wordlist needs to be shuffled during install so no two installs has the same mapping).
Next time you use it and you put in a wrong pin, it will say "apple". You know it's supposed to say banana so you know you put your pin wrong, your adversary (the guy just stole your phone), doesn't know the checkword so he wont know if it's right or wrong.
The stuff that goes on in a base jumpers mind is exactly the same. They are addicted to the rush, they are willing to commit several crimes to get their fix and they will hurt their loved ones in the process.
Many a years ago I had a phone that included a password storage application. You gave it a 4 digit pin and it would show you a checkword, then list all your passwords (key->value). If the pin was wrong, it would still give you a checkword, but different from what your correct word get and then list all the same keys, but different passwords.
Was a pretty nice application, but can't remember the make of the phone, probably a Sony-Ericsson.
Too bad you reply as AC, police is never there to help you, if you ever get in the search light of a police investigation and try to cooperate, you are bound to end up being arrested.

They will never realize that I have no idea what I'm doing!
Depends on where you are, but here in Socialist Europe, people are calling less and less, so the ability to call is becoming less of a bullet point.
Data and texting are the most important features now...

Does the loading and saving keep EXIF? My camera puts in a lot of EXIF information, stripping it out can save quite a bit of space.

Well obviously, he is trying to get rid of his coins....
This is probably the best explanation I've ever read.

Racists much?

zsh does out of the box.
Well get used to it.
If beta goes live people will exodus slashdot, granted no more fuck beta posts, but on the other hand, the people whom you want to have a discussion with will have moved on, leaving you with spambots.
Then you haven't tried the mobile version.
I've already abandoned that part of slashdot, it is absolutely impossible to use - the font is too small to read, and reszing is disabled...
What new design? Oh you mean the one that isn't on classic.slashdot.org? I was half way out the door back then when they allowed us to switch to the old design.

I know google is a tough one to use, but searching around will yield stuff like this: http://articles.mercola.com/si...

My point exactly - there is almost no legal places to base jump from.
