    I'm a bit confused by the poster, I have a MBP 13" retina in front of me, and on the back I can see 10 screws, granted, I haven't tried taking them out, but I'm pretty sure you can service it, if you wanted to.

    Personally I'd just load it up with whatever is needed, the machine will (hopefully) run for 3+ years, and we have an upgrade cycle of 2 years, so it should work out just fine.

    Out of curiosity, do you happen to be American?

    Europe sure as heck doesn't *need* the middle east for oil, we have huge oil fields in the north sea, which is quite capable of sustaining us should shit hit the fan. On top of that, we are working very hard on getting rid of our dependency on oil, so no, we don't *need* them.

    Call rate for land line in the US is $0.01 per minute (Alaska is $0.04) and that is from an operator that's renting their lines in the US. Pretty hard to make an impact.

    Also, using a call center in the 3rd world, you can probably have workers for as little as $1 per hour. And if you think they are paying over seas charges, think again; using VoIP, you can connect any two places in the world and make the charges look local.

    Just because they are representing different caller ids, doesn't mean it's spoofed. You can pick up ranges for very little money - a couple of hundred US numbers and a trunk is about $100 a month + traffic.

    The TOR busts the FBI did earlier this year was malware infecting windows users using outdated versions of TOR (for windows).

    A TOR AP makes very good sense, since you can easily change MAC adr. local IP etc. to something other than the normal network, making leaks very hard to use.

    Also, you need to adjust for speed of collision. Since there are a lot more gasoline powered cars on the road, chances are they are way more represented in low speed accidents, which most likely has lower chance of causing fire.

    Nuclear power as it is today is inherently unsafe, however, there are lots of nuclear alternatives that aren't problematic during major earthquakes and tsunamis; they do however, require people to actually get educated about the subject instead of running around screaming the sky is falling at the mention of nuclear.

    Are you really this retarded? When the bank is requiring a Java Applet to run, how do you propose to keep those two things seperate?

    There are a lot of countries in the EU where Java Applets are required to authenticate, either through digital signatures or through government single-sign-on solutions; the sole reason I have Java Applet allowed is to do banking and communication with the government.

    Yeah, share your pain (from Denmark, NemID is the name of the game here, same vendor though).

    Fun fact, the alternative they are working on is javascript clocking in at $20m for the Danish version alone, Nets claims they are not reusing the code between BankID and NemID, but one does wonder (By the way, did you guys also suffer a 3 day downtime this weekend because the tards forgot to read the release notes?)

    Click to play is fine and dandy, however, the warning FF has put in place is just wrong. Even someone working in tech for many a years had to go over everything to work out why the hell it was showing danger alerts when trying to run the banks applet...

    Java is needed to do banking in many places, the FF change gave me 30 minutes of "wtf?"; trying to work out why it kept complaining about insecure applet, when running newest Java had me perplexed.

    If I had an alternative to FF on Mac and Java, I'd ditch FF for this stunt in a heartbeat.

    Iceland isn't bankrupt, they unlike everyone else, took the healthy choice of defaulting on their loans, restructured and recovered. They are actually fairing better than pretty much anyone else right now.

    Why would France want to cover (illegal)immigrants (guess you left that out for your fud)? No-one else are doing so.

    Greece is going bankrupt for wholly different things, it's not their public health care that are destroying them.

    As a species we do our darnest to stay alive, even through the most unbelievable pain, so if you consider the cockroach a sentient being ( or whatever that makes them buggers be important enough for you to be "humane" to), why allow people to suffer, when a quick death is surely better?

    Doesn't sound like these roaches are getting a worse treatment than most of the meat we eat...

    So far TOR seems to still be safe, the people getting busted (at least publicly) are people who have been doing something stupid.
    The Silk Road bust was (officially) a chance bust, where false documents where picked up in the mail.
    The Pedo busts that have been going on lately are users using known vulnerable TOR versions, getting infected on windows of all things.
    Also rumors of people getting busted by using same usernames on TOR and public networks and/or having some very distinctive writing styles, allowing analysis specialists to pick them up.

    So so far, TOR still seems to be safe, as long as you aren't doing something really stupid.

    (Do note however, TOR is known to be vulnerable to timing attacks, so you probably don't want someone with global knowledge to be on the opposing force, if you are doing anything illegal)
