In the meantime maybe some sites that dont hold the music "industry" so high will flourish. The ones that are allowing artists to make profits directly from websites, etc...
Unfortunately, it will piss off the little companies who dont have as much money to support the MS empire. However, the big ones who have the money to support the empire(and also have things to hide) will embrace the technology. If for no other reason than to enforce the secrets they need to hide.
I am not sure this will destroy MS's market, tho I do think it will slim it more.
I enjoyed them when they actually had technical articles geared more to how stuff works rather than how to 'do' something.
Bad thing about the how to do stuff now is it is nothing more than 'click this, click that' style teaching.
