Huh. If it's true that you learn something new every day, I guess I can go home now. I've only been using it a couple weeks, so I'm sure I'll pick up on other things.

    thanks!

Ever since they made Opera free, I'm stuck in limbo.

There are Firefox features I love (extensions, typing "google foo" in the address bar, many others) and Opera features I love (seems smaller & lighter, I prefer it's implementation of tabs, many others).

Now, instead of having one browser I was perfectly happy with (Firefox) I have two, neither of which I'm completely satisfied with (Firefox and Opera). When I'm in Firefox, I miss Opera features and when I'm in Opera I miss Firefox features. I'm a less happy browser user.

I got this for a random sampling of the Chinese phrases:

    The condom

    to compel the big penis
    chicken high tide

That was under "chinese-simp to english." When I used "chinese-trad to english" I got this:

    The condom
    wraps you to compel
    to compel the big Pakistan
    high tide
    sex abuse

Now I don't know what to think.

Personally, I don't find "celebrity" biographies very interesting, with a few exceptions. I'd rather watch/read a biography of someone who has led an interesting life. Gandhi would be an example.

I find biographies about historical figures much more interesting than celebrities, even if they are so-called icons. I wouldn't find a biography of Elvis Presley, Greta Garbo or Fred Astaire any more interesting than one of Jennifer Lopez, which is to say I wouldn't find it interesting at all.

I think that the life story of the guy who invented the ATM would probably be pretty dry. I work with a lot of bright Engineers, and they're good, decent, intelligent people, but hardly subjects for interesting biographies.

Plus, hey, it wouldn't sell commercial time.

Think they'd ever do a biography of the guy who invented one of best convenience devices ever created? No. I guess that's boring ...

Sure it's boring. Just because he invented something useful doesn't mean he led an interesting life. A guy like that probably wouldn't make an good subject for a biography.
