Just like how fast processors and excess memory has allowed for programs to become sloppy in their code writing and optimization, adding this feature within a processor will allow for even less experienced programmers to code large projects.
Just think about all of the impressive stuff that goes on in embedded systems, and think of the size. Then think of all the stuff you do on you computer and look at the size.
Concidering my webserver still logs %5c..%5c attacts from codered, i beleive there are many windows boxes out there that are hacked and people still dont even know about it.
I would have to say this is definately not accurate. Although it does show that the people who are running the linux boxes (and probably BSD boxes) know when their system had been compromised.
I am against paying for email. Not because I'm cheap, but because then I feel that paying for IM would be next and who is to get this money?
Second, while I'm at it, I'm against blocking dynamic IP addresses. I can't send my mother email from my server at home, I have to use another account because AOL blockes dynamic IP addresses.
I never understood what was wrong with making spam okay (to a point) as long as they have an Adv: in the subject line. This still allows other people to get it, along with an easy way to filter.
Knowledgeable computer users don't suffer from email viruses...
Since we are relating things to biology, you could say this is survival of the fittest. People who are willing to change their bad habbits on the internet will 'survive'.
Allthough driver 'wrappers' and the like would be awesome for the linux community. think of the lawsuits that would start if linux 2.7.0 had much much better support for NTFS and the like.
I would have to second this comment. I think if my gf bought me a HD or a thinkgeek t-shirt i would be kind of disapointed because those are things that i would just go out and buy if i need. I would rather have something that would remind me of her whenever i see it.
In milwaukee I have Time Warner cable because our apartment doesnt allow satalite, and I have had nothing but problems with noise on the line. They have come out to fix it a few times but nothing seems to work. Seems at peak times the higher channels become blocky and sometime dont 'download' for a few seconds.
OTOH, my DirectTV in chicago has only had a problem once and it was the biggest storm in chicago i had seen in awhile.
I believe that cable also has satalites, its just not at your home, its at the recieving station. So if there is a big storm, or the watch dog at the cable companies broadcaster sneezes:D their satalites will go out also.
Maybe someone could explain this to me...
What is the difference between recording a song off the radio and giving your friend the tape and recording the song to your harddrive?
is it just the sheer numbers at which someone could copy. Because i didnt think there was a copyright problem with recording off the radio. but i could be wrong.

I'm not worried. I run OpenBSD.
Heh, see even the US goverment plays SIMS games :D

1 Trillion is low-balling it.
what shocked me is when my mother logged on to AOL, she started getting popup windows (not IM's) that were for sexy webcams and such.
The cars don't lock until you pass the breathalizer also?
Every bar should have one, or even personal ones.
We had a breathalizer once at a party, it then became a game of who could blow the highest BAC....heh that was a fun night.
whats really bad is searching
:D)
site:yahoo.com on google yeilds 14,100,000
while
searching site:yahoo.com on yahoo only yeilds 7,580,000
(Side note: yahoo's url is also longer, this will take more time to type in on IE

I'd agree. Seems like quite a waste to watch it fall in the ocean.

Just as a side note.... won't this eraticate the dragon fly population. Their larvae eat mosquito larvae...
Shamefully we will now see how much foul play occurs when a non-open source peice of software becomes available.
Especially one that is supposed to run 90% of desktops.

this actually can hurt us more than help.
Just a guess... It will be the core of RHat Enterprise Edition
I'm pretty sure there is a switch to make sure *BSD looks into the prebuilt reposatory before it decides to build a port.
My hardware is so fast i got first post :)
or ThunderCats
Well it seems that mozilla is down, along with their mirrors list. BitTorrent should always be up, no matter what load.

How can they think that MyDoom was written by a linux user, was there a GPL header on the top? :D
And destroying Zion....
