I feel Apple's biggest problem is it's veterans, those with the company for some time, and their egos are getting out and being expressed. More of the, "I've wanted to do this for a long time. Now I can." mentality. There is no restraint, no clear vision. It appears every department director has been freed to do as they seem fit. This is evident, from all the defending Apple did during the unveiling of the new Macbook Pros and through the press and social media after its October release. Apple has lost their direction and has way too much money to understand they need to wrangle in everyone to get them back on track making truly amazing products. All they care about is moving the ticker and keeping it green through P&L performance and units moved, just like every other American company that relies on the stock market to gage performance in which Apple ultimately fails to meet expectations. Essentially Apple has become the Microsoft of the last 20 years or more so Pepsi Co.
I thought the point of being on the wait list was to be notified of when more were going to be made available after the Fire Sale? What happened to this?
How freaking weird is that. My girlfriend and I spent last night drinking on the porch and looking up old Nickelodeon shows on Youtube. Mr. Wizard's Show was on of them, and we wished that they still aired his show. How weird is it for me to wake up and see this sort of headline on/.?
Where the hell to you think the million consolidation ads I get a year come from? They always look like bills, but are applications to consolidate. Also where the hell do you think all the credit card applications come from?
Everyone that is at least 18-20 years old knows this already. Must be a slow day on slashdot. Also the about.com article seems to be a rip of an article I remember reading a few years ago on a gaming website. Oh well....
I don't get all this bitching about Microsoft. They announce delays of both Vista and Office. Maybe for once they are trying to get things ironed out before shipping a product. Maybe Microsoft is trying to release two products that are well developed and useful for the end user. Give em time! If you want to use something else then do so.
PowerPoint slides should not be used!
They suck and are not detailed enough to express what is being taught!
To many teachers try to use a technology that they think will catch the students interest, but in the end they are crippling their teaching style and how students learn.
I would be open to teachers providing mp3-based podcasts of lectures, or audio book textbooks.
I took a test created in PowerPoint the other day.
Ick!
Laptops are very annoying in class. Students are usually surfing facebook.com or watching DVDs. In my Art History classes it is very annoying to have a laptop in the room. Laptops stick out like a sore thumb in dimly lighted room.
The comment about people listing to MP3 players in classroom is very annoying. I took a test about two weeks ago, and a kid listened to his iPod during the first half of the test. Very annoying! People have no respect for other people in the room.
My professor does not accept e-mails from students. What about that?

Thanks
