Just because you dirty GNU-hippies don't use them, doesn't mean they're propriertary. I'd say that Linux is the propriertary platform and Windows the standard.
Do you have any information on whether Microsoft is planning on releasing Windows for the PS2. That way you could actually develop some decent games with ease using Microsoft.Net.
Everybody knows C is a language of the past. And C# is clearly the way to the future. Unfortunately Linux only has "gcc", which can only compile ancient C-code. Which is a good thing of course, if you use Linux, since you have to "compile the kernel" any time you make any changes to your hardware. Hey Linux-users: Windows has auto-mounted CDs for ten years (if not longer) when will you be able to change the CD in Linux without changing some obscure settings-files?

Sorry I forgot. With Linux on the PS2, you can port games like Tuxracer and BzFlag for PS2 and pretend you are playing good games.
