You know, the FTC is aware of loot boxes since ... well it's been decades. They have to "look into a matter" when they want to change the legal landscape administratively. That's just the nail in the whole fake outrage.

several other countries have already decided that lootboxes meet their legal definition of gambling, and must therefore abide by gambling laws.

The UK doesn't think so and the Chinese don't think so. I'm sure what other countries do matters. /s

  3. Nope. Free speech is free speech, even if you want to be a *n1gger about it. Variations...like maybe coon or wetback or whatever other magic scary words or phrase triggers people, are also not necessarily said by me (this time it was). Welcome to the internet where people have had their mind warped into thinking what they read plus what they imagine, is USUALLY fact. How many people are too scared to have posted these sentiments? It's just sad. * Slashdot has a lameness filter for the proper spelling.

The comparison is to the community shaping its own environment. Engligh colonists becoming a sovereign nation which eschewed all the priveledges and benefits of England but which provided new opportunities and greater freedom...like being able to codify their rights. Compared to: Battlenet users who hate battlenet (which are many many) using nonstandard servers with very little centralized organization at the cost of non-legit records, items, what-have-you-that's-important-to-you-on-Bnet but allows for say...no korean channels :p The comparison wasnt software to taxes.
