    ".. retarded foetus" ??

You might begin your re-education by using this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foetus. Your use of the word 'retarded' suggests that you are aware of at least one 'IQ' test appropriate to a fetus (old, misguided spellings are not used in science). If you know of such a test, kindly inform us so that we can possibly ask you to take it. Your score will then be compared (inappropriately, yes, but as a 'chastising', no).
So, you see, you have opened the door to the exploration of at least two errors: 1) archaic spelling is not scientific, and 2) the presumption that you can define 'retarded fetus' in any meaningful way. I suggest you return to your pseudo-erudite and disingenuous cave and beg forgiveness of the party whom you so rudely bullied.

Although its not stated, the odds are that the committee did not include members with medical training. Any fool can see that falling 6' is likely to cause fatal injuries, especially to the elderly. Where are the individuals who made this absurd change? Who are they? Are they vulnerable to law suite or any sort of consequences? The 'system' worked. Those responsible for defining what the 'system' should do did not work in the interests of the public. Why try to hide them? Are there other committees making similar 'money-saving' decisions? tkjtkj, m.d.

To say "..brought back to life" is, plainly an exhageration at best, and profound irresponsible hyperbole at worst: There is NO proof that anything was brought back to life! Yes, the team apparently observed aspects of metabolism but they note that at the extremely low temperatures and extremely high pressures existing at their normal habitat the specimens could have been doing the very same things, for thousands of years, but at a velocity so low as not to be appreciated. Bringing them 'up to temperature' certainly would increase likelihood that metabolism might increase enough to be measureable .. This seems more probable than to suggest that the specimens were not alive and then became living creatures once again. To come 'back to life' suggests they were not at that point when their warming journey began. Shame on those who might use such journalistic tricks for any purpose!
