I was able to get a day early view of the Matrix (thanks EMC). While note obcessed with the maxtrix as some may be I found the movie OK. I liked the first one better. CGI was better in the new movies but the matrix effects, 3D pans and gravity defying moves get old pretty fast. Also the fight scenes go on forever and could have been cut in half with no lost in plot content. Car chase was good. Aside from a single sex scene the move could have been rated PG-13. The "lets toss sex into the movie" scene with Carrie-Anne Moss (Trinity) and Keanu Reeves (Neo) was crappy. First off Carrie-Anne is not that good looking and I have no interest in seeing Keanu ass.
Not sure I would stand in line to see the movie but is worth seeing if just for the CGI.
FOLKS. STAY AROUND AFTER THE LONG LONG CREDITS HAVE RUN. IT will be worth your wait.
The orginal intent of analog to digital was great. The FCC wanted to Use the digital signal to effectivly use the bandwith available.
Now comes the broadcasters. We want features, we want to be able to add to what is being broadcast, semi-interactive functions, we want no copy bits, we want, we want. So the standard has been changed to meet the needs of the broadcaster.
I dont know about you, Low def quality programming on high def TV's are still junk.
Now TV broadcasters want to be able to multiplex multi tv programming over there signal. Have the ability to provide a "subscriber" based service over broadcast tv.
I dont know about you, but until the HDTV is the same price as I paid for my 19" tv Ill never buy one.
hmmm, plant a developer to put code in openGL, back off wait a few years and come back with lawyers yelling out patient violations and and how open source developers are a buch of terroriost.
Not going to happen in mass so will not matter. If every slashdot user subscribed and dropped roadrunner, it would be a drop in the bucket to the masses number of RR user. Most people dont care. They have one computer and one connections. On top of that many areas have only 1 boardband option. Not much of a choice to move to somthign else.
