    And why should you want to? Heaving lifting of dead objects is for unmanned rockets.

    IIRC, one of the reasons those items went up on the shuttle was because the rockets weren't capable at the time of carring a large, hubble-sized, satellite.

    There is nothing a shuttle can do that soyuz + iss can't, and then some.

    I think you're a little mistaken there. You'd be extremely hard pressed to see a soyuz put hubble into space, or chandra, or any of the ISS modules.

    There are times now in traffic when I get that unimistakable urge to just pull into the oncoming lane to pass some slow moron in front of me, or to pull the guy who cut me off out of his car at the next red light and lay a beating on his ass.

    I know exactly what you mean... sometimes it's so tempting to swerve over to the right and just nail one of those pedestrians...

    That and GranTurismo... I drive an 'exploder' and after I play that game... woo woo! (It doesn't actually go fast.. I just like to pretend it does... although the engine (read fan) is so ridiculously loud, I keep thinking I should be going fast...) :|

    The worst part was that my brothers would always come in and scare the shit out of me. :o

    Actually, I'm libertarian... so I'm definitely not in favor of excessive defense spending. I don't recall ever saying I supported spending excessive amounts of money on the defense budget.

    Why not spend that money on getting the 8.8 million people that are currently unemployed some jobs?

    Because then you risk spiraling into socialism by doleing out tax dollars...

    They've gotta develop this for home use - I have 3 kids under the age of 14 months. I barely have time to go get the mail, let alone stay outside long enough to mow the lawn and take care of weeds...

    The solution is fairly easy... just let you lawn go to shit for the next couple years, but train your kids to be master weed-pickers. That way right when they start being able to move under their own power, you'll have three, free, weed-pulling 'machines'.

    ...is for adults. They have an M rating. They are not for children. When my nephews visit me, they are not permitted to play my GTA games. We rent a Spyro the Dragon game or something like that if they want to play a video game.

    Exactly! This is what people need to realize. It isn't the responsibility of the game devs, govnernment, or any group to censor games, movies, songs, etc. It is the responsibility of the parents/legal guardians to ensure that the children in their care aren't watching/doing/listening-to things they shouldn't.

    Which leads me to wonder... what's the big deal with all these foreign languages? English has worked fine on the 'net for the last 10 years, so why stop now?
