Two points I'd like to make concerning the advantages of bipedalism:
1. Compare our height to mass ratio to nearly any other mammal's. Mammals of comparable height will typically have a mass many times ours.
2. Primates sensory/brain system is almost completely specialized in pattern recognition.
Conclusion: You put one of natures best stealth busting sensor packages on a predator who can stick this system higher in the air than the majority of its prey. If I can see you first I have a better chance of eating you.
-Bipeds rock!
That's because running down the Director would be considered a boon to the human race.
Consider: Pluto Nash, Starship Troopers, Battlefield Earth, etc...
In my pre coffee morning stupor I read the headline as "Pain Memory Maximum Increased". That's some tech I can live without. "It's like high school but without the drugs".
I would love to see this used to coat the vanes that support the secondary mirrors of reflector type telescopes. Diffraction spikes (the little spikes on relatively bright stars) are really the reflection of light on these little supports. If you are into photographing nebulae, having a bright star in view can be a real photo killer.
I live in SW Virginia (redneck land),
All those rusted out cars in peoples yards......they're saunas. Makes perfect sense now.
Thanks for the enlightenment.
