I'm on Fig Newtons. Go to your local grocery store and get the Fat Free Strawberry kind which I have discovered make you horny and hallucinate at the same time. Very deadly combination if you ask me.
The client is demanding that they meet deadline. What do you expect management to do? Refuse and lose the clients business or try everything possible and deliver the client what they expect? Plus you have to keep in mind that once you piss off a client, word gets out and you end up being partially being blacklisted.
The first thing they'll teach you in business school is the customer is always right and must be kept happy. Whilst this isn't always true, it will serve you in the future to make sure everyone is happy with you. Too many pissed of customers and you can kiss repeat customer goodbye.
I'm sorry but management has every right to ask it's employees to step up their work effort in order to keep the company afloat.
Maybe you can shed light as to what you'd do if you were a manager and a client asked you to finish a porduct on a tight deadline.
I go in at 7:30 a.m. and I leave around 4:30 p.m. I have an 45 minute lunch break and 15 minutes of bullshit time. The is far better than when I first started working for the company. Back then I used to come in at 8:00 a.m and leave 6:30 p.m for a period of 6 months.
When stuff needs to get done ASAP, I stay until 9 p.m or 10 p.m. I even come in on the weekend. This is OK with me because if I don't the company won't make money or get the next contract and I will probobably end up unemplyed.
Plus, I like the company I work for. People are great and we are a real team. It is not like everyone is slacking off and I have to work lots of hours. Oh and our management also work lots of hours. They are always last to leave. These guys even stay until 9 p.m. on Friday nights.
I did a 15 page research paper on the History of IBM so I'm well versed in its accomplishment. History of the Information Machine was a great resource when I was doing my research. I'd definitely recommend this book to everyone.
I buy treasuries every week through treasurydirect.gov but I earn is 4.66%. If you are saving up for a house, like I am, then you'd definitly better off investing in treasuries, in particular âoeIâ Bonds. But if you are a long term investor IBM is as good of a place to invest.
Everyone has rough period and IBM is no exception. But as far as stock investment goes there probably nothing better. GE is another company I'd put my long term money in.
IBM is the result of a merger between three companies and those companies that spawned IBM existed since 1890's. IBM is one of the true Blue Chip companies in the world and there is no place safer to put you money.
I make decisions based on principle. I try to stay away from doing business with companies I feel their vale/price ratio to be too high, but if their is absolutely no alternative the old adage of "you have to do what you have to do" applies. When it comes to web technology Iâ(TM)ll confesses and say I will absolutely stay away from anything M$. I mean what other choice does one have when they know M$ mission as far as the web is concerned is to control it all.
I truly believe that Sony is the only company that can make Linux gaming a successes. I don't see why they aren't motivated to do so wen you consider that PS2 is based on Linux and the fact that M$ as stepped on its turf.
Heck they can even include a Live ISO in their game CD so user won't have to install Linux.
Last time I checked guns will get you killed by the police. Heck, you are likely to get killed if you flash your wallet.
Word to the wise, if an officer(s) approaches you, stand still and do nothing. It is by the best chance you have of surviving. Remember kids the police can legally pop you.
So in effect an nVidia card would need 3 slots (1 AGP and 2 PCI) because you wouldn't think of blocking the air flow. With a card that only requires one slot you would have more freedom because you can have it take up two slots (1 AGP and 1 PCI) and still have more air-flow space than an nVidia card that reqires two slots to begin with.
They barely had what you would call Linux drivers. I was actually talking about the Windows driver which where abysmal when it came to playing games. The drivers where poorly written, crashed often, and had graphics artifacts problems.
Point is nVidia shouldn't have designed a chip that likes to be so hot that a big ass fan is required to keep it going. I'd like to go on record and say that nVidia's design is not natural and therefore inferior. One has to always strive for the elegant solutions otherwise we would all be using a computer the size of a refirerator.
ATI drivers have always been the deciding factor and now that people are actually saying good things about their drivers I feel a lot more comfortable buying an ATI card.
If nVidia continues to have these bulky video cards which take two PCI slots and make noise like a whale they just might go by the way side just like 3DFX.
nVidia is walking a tight rope and for the first time in six years I'm actually going to consider buying an ATI. Come September 30th there is 90% chance that I'll have an ATI card on my machine.
If were IBM I'd get hold of all the original authors of the alleged code that has been copied and ask them to testify that "this code is original and that there is no way anyone else could have written it without looking at his/here code."
It is reasonable to assume that the alleged stolen code had long been developed in an academic setting before it ever found its way into UNIX.
Some things are hard to learn on your own. I mean take the idea of threads for example. Threads are not intuitive. I know quite a lot of professional programmers who have no clue what a thread is. Then you have statistics which is definitely not something one can learn on their own. At some point you will need someone with experience to explain things to you because you will undoubtedly get lost. Then you also have operating system concepts that aren't easy to learn on your own.
Just because you can read doesn't mean you can understand everything you have read. There are times when an instructor who has done work before comes in handy and if you think otherwise you are either a genius or full of shit.
In case of an accident, the tank will freeze and no fire or explosion would occur.
That is a fail safe system. My post clearly states redundant fail safe. What happens if the system that controls the freezing processes of the tank doesn't work?

It takes at least 2 to 3 weeks to bring a new person up to speed. Simply bring more people in won't solve the problem.
Last time I checked Microsoft is always crush mood. Microsoft doesn't have to utter the words, it is always implied.
If it was legal, they'd have âoeKicking Devisionâ who's whole objective is to kick the competition in the gonads.

NY Times has as much credibility as Fox News. How can anyone take either of these entertainment organizations seriously?
Disgusting!
Should that have said 6 Million? You can't build anything these days for 6 million. Hell, payroll alone will be 6 million.

One down, SCO to go.

Magazine? Who buys those anymore? Amazon.com and Google all the way baby!

Your logic is flawed.

Some say it is, some say it isn't, but all agree to disagree.
If it has as much potential as Resident Evil or Tomb Raider, I sure as hell don't want to see it.
Movies based on games blow.
