I'm no webmaster and I haven't tried the app in question. But the grandparent is charging $20 for it; sure if someone found it usefull, they should drop the change for it, it's not that expensive afterall...
My only suggestion on that realm would be two-fold:
- accept paypal, as many people don't like to do credit transactions with whom they don't know well...
- perhaps you could open-source the software (full GPL) and open a paypal donnation account to help pay for development. OSS would cather for a more "mature" (most of the time) user base, and generally a more "giving" one, specially if your product scratch their itch.
So, since the original site is dead, what area the details ni building something like this? Many "normal" images stitched together? Fish-eye lenses as another poster suggested? Software to generate the quick-time VR files?
Yes, just like the whole arab world united when they got invaded by the cruzades in the middle ages, right? oops, but thei *didn't* unite, even after 100 years of invasion. (*)
Do not underestimate our differences, we were born throwing stones at each other, it does not look like that's gonna change anytime soon.
(*) The final defeat and purging of the Franc by the Arabs was more of an act of good strategy and luck than any big united action by the Arab world of the time.
Learning to program or to operate a specific set of programs if valuable, don't get me wrong there. But that is not the same thing as understanding the workings of a computer (which I consider Computer Science).
Computing science has little to do with computers. Computers are tools; computing science is math.
No, the key is, a legit email should not ask you to click a link, but rather to "go to our website" (but not provide the link). Let the user login as usual, and he/she will be safer.
Conectiva is the biggest linux player in Brazil and it also has some recognition around the world - you probably remember Marcelo Tosatti worked there, right?
Well, being a Brazilian company and having a heavily localized distro has helped them get a strong hold in the market here, but it works twofold, as it also helped spread linux among people and business that would not try a non-localized distro.
Any company in Egypt pursuing this marked opportunity currently? Or you think it would not work there (and if so, why?)
Looking at the sun is usually not safe unless using an approved filter at the objective of the instrument (and never at occular) or by projecting it's image onto a screen.
The first wone is tricky, because many process and services can be the result of non-microsoft running apps. Still, a "all in one place" summary for services and background processes would be a handy tool!
As for the second, although it is not MSDN, it's almost the same; here's your link:
You can allways have a "reset" switch that sets your pwd back to factory default, so if the user lost it, just reset it - and have the equipment log the fact.
Then, instead of guarding a globally unique pwd, tell your users to phisically secure the equipment. Makes sense in allot of applications, like routers by the way.
Because of the type of files affected by this bug, this thread may be the most appropriate to ask it: being that FastTracker 2 is a bit outdated, what tracker software are people currently using?
I'm no music composer, so expensive packages are but. I just want something to have some fun in the spare time, kinda like FT2, just a bit easier on newer hardware and (Gor forgive-me) that runs under Windows.
what's with the.XM files?.XM files are one of the common extentions for "modules", music files with sampled instruments - the music is not in audio format, but in the form of instruments and several "tracks", telling which note to play at any given time (that's a generalization)
Modules are quite popular in the electronic scene, and if you got the right player, usually sound much better than the equivalent MP3.
Plus, if you are into MAKING electronic music, with a module you have the actual SOURCE for it (the module file), so just open it on your favorite tracker and start playing with it (pun intended)
Flame as you want, but.Net assemblies not published to the GAC (Global Assembly Cache) are exactely like that: all of the application files are kept under a single directory and all you need to setup the app is a "xcopy" of its files.
Delete the directoty and the app is gone.
This is here now, and altough.Net still have to catch on into the desktop, it is very much real on the server side. Gotta love it!
Zapp: I hate these filthy Neutrals Kif. With enemies you know where they stand but with Neutrals, who knows? It sickens me!
40 miles alone is not impressive, HAMs talk all over the world on less than a watt (QRP) routinely, on HF bands off-course
But than I read this modem works on 900MHz, so that's quite a feat, worthy of a "Pringles can award"

that's a bad analogy, is like she's saying that is the water company's fault if a broken pipe floods her home ...

Doctor who came in third. (sigh)
'In the Linux world, nobody stands behind patent claims'
He does got a point here. And that's one of the (many) reasons why software patents are evil. Read more here.
What the public wants now is quality, better reception, and higher reliability
...
And who provides that are carriers, not phone manufacturers like Nokia
But I understand your point.
was it too much to ask that this was included?

Take a look at this option:
www.gpstm.com
It's not open source, but at least its free (the professional version is the one intended for cartographers)
The interface could improve a bit, but you get used to it
Only on slashdot you see an article on ants and a very informative post on the same article by one "antdude" with ID on the lowest 100K.
:)
Ok, I'll call it a day, happy weekend you all

That logic gave me a 10/10 result on the test.
Headbangers, uh? Funny I read the blurb while Slayers' "Decade of Aggression" is screaming out of my stereo ...

Are you sure it blocks non-visible light?

I've been using this technique successfully in several flavors of Win2K for a while. I believe it works the same on XP.
Cheers,
