In a continuing effort to maintain their image as evil incarnate, record companies are considering charging used CD retailers a royalty for every CD they resell.
I'm amazed they didnt try this before....anything that they could use to make even more money and screw the buyers over is PERFECT for them
well, if there's no judging of the artistic side of the equation, then there's really no point in judging at all...especially since most people could care less about technique and are all about how it really sounds and how artistic it is...
Also, a good judge will take into consideration ALL THE ASPECTS in the performance, technique, musicality and all....
As a pianist myself, i can tell you that if you dont take everything in consideration for making any kind of musical judgement, then there is no point in making any judging at all, especially when you can have ultra good technique, but dont have any sense of musicality and sound like ass when playing.....
Now I wonder how long it'll take for M$ to launch OE for Lindows, and carry all the virii along...FUN FUN FUN
Or better yet, they try to sue Walmart for trying to bully out Microsoft products off the shelves by using anti-competitive tactics....
<i>If you are designing a new web app, why would you not use Java?</i> <br> hm...why WOULD you want to use Java? Java is way to resource hungry, not Open Source, and though i think you mean JSP instead of Java, PHP is still easier to use, and it won't eat up your memory and use up mad amounts of CPU time..... LAMP/LAPP/WAMP seems like one of the best options avaiable, anything other than JAva:D
i completely agree with you here....
I've done some stuff with PHP, Perl, ASP (shame on me), and though Perl allowed for more powerful stuff, most of the time you dont need that much and can easily work your way around it with another language.
Since I self-taught myself PHP, I was really happy with the extensive documentation, which most of the times wasn't really THAT necessary, since the language is pretty self-explanatory itself....
Also, Perl code 90% of the times is gonna be way messier than PHP or even Python code, which really fucks you over if you have to do constant changing around or things, or just maintaining the site running....
As for performance, I am no expert on that, so I'm not gonna say anything about one being faster than the other, but from what I've expereinced PHP has produced pretty damn good, satisfactory results.
you know what they say... people in glass houses ss..ss...ssink ships
"It's not dumb. It's advaaaaaanced." "I'm gonna sing the Doom Song now!" "Aw, it likes me!"
you got it wrong.... its: "it's not stupid. It's advaaaaanced."
