Many can already record a show/movie, althought not at the so-called "perfect" quality, still, in a non-degrading digital format using the TV input on many display cards.
I doubt the majority of the people watching pirated movies are going to care about the little difference in quality which might not even show on regular TV's.
Besides, if it can be viewed, it can be recorded. If you want people to be able to view your movies on their TV, they will be able to record them. It's as futile as trying to protect an image on your website from being downloaded.
A DVD or a video can easily be ripped and distributed, maybe they should just stop selling those all together too?
I was working on the development of a community site that has a java-based chat room.
My successor implemented the chat room in swing, and posted up a note at the site entrance giving the users the instruction and link to download and install Java 2 run time enviroment. He was hoping that the users could follow the 3 lines of instruction that basically said "click here to download, then run the file after download finishes".
However, instead of appreciation for his new and spiffy swing chat room, most users sent complains saying that the chat room is 'broken'. They just ignored the notice on the way in. After talking to some of them we learned that they only had a vague recognition of "java the web thingy", and were insisting that they had it in their IE.
The last I have heard was that the next version of the chat room was going back to awt so it will run in IE without needing the user to installing JRE.
I guess what I have learned from this is that the majority of the users are technically inept and can't follow the simplest instruction, therefore if something isn't supported in IE natively, you lose these users. While this may not be a concren for some, it is a critical issue with development projects with the average mass as their targeted users.
Can anyone translate this: AÁÙ¦bâúÃ20%H¥Î¥dÜ??
-> "Are you still paying 20% interest on your credit cards??"
Personally, I just block all e-mails from hinet.net and a few other.tw domains because I got so sick and tired of receiving these stupid spams from people who can't even tell that my address is outside their country.
No parents can supervise their children every second of their lives. Well, not most of the normal parents anyways.
I have always found it absurd trying to create a sanitized environment for your kids where no "evil" can be found. Let's face it, in this day and age, kids will have the chance to be introduced to nudity, violence, and drugs. It may be their friends, TV, other kids at school, or even complete strangers. Internet access at the local library is the least of my worries.
IMHO, instead of trying to shelter kids, be active and teach them how to properly deal with these things, so they can choose to do the right thing themselves.
As someone who's been a kid in a conservative community, I know that prohibition only makes them want it more, and what's worse is, they would be exposed to these things without their parents knowing.
Like you suggested, few parents want to watch their kids every second of their lives. The best we can do for them is to teach them well as they are exposed to what people may consider "evil", and hopefully, they will make the right decisions for themselves.
I think I have seen These as well, however, none of the models I have seen have the input from casset player functionality.

Does this mean that I haven't been really losing weight?
