for those that didn't read the previous story, the title of this one might have been misleading. It almost gives the impression that AOL cleaned Nullsoft's septic tank or something...
If you've ever been stuck in rush hour traffic moving at an average speed of 3.2 mph, then you can appreciate the usefulness of having a pr0n player handy right in your car.
And I'm sure your fellow drivers wouldn't appreciate you driving with one hand... =)
I think CowboyNeal meant to say "cave" and not shell. I find that most computer geeks emerge from the aforementioned "cave" to refill on "carbonation" and "sugar". Or something.
Two other features also are similarly restricted: the document protection technology Windows Rights Management Services (RMS), and Excel List, a feature for improving analysis of data lists. Microsoft plans to deliver the three features only in the Enterprise and Professional versions of Office 2003, the company confirmed late Thursday.
No DRM in the Standard version means no DRM'd documents for the Office version that 99% of people use(and the version that comes with most OEM PCs). So at least Rights Restriction won't become widespread except for businesses.
I'm afraid it might get significantly harder for humble college students such as myself to sample an artist's music before going out and buying a disc...
It's already hard for me to justify buying CDs. I'm down to one mainstream band that I really like, and have to wait about 2 years for new CDs. Add the headaches of fair-use prevention, errr, copy protection, and it just doesn't make sense to buy CDs. Maybe Apple will get the subscription music service right and we'll have a legitimate, fair, and fun service with tons of good music.
In the PDF, it mentions that the G4 has full SMP support. Since the PBG4 17" is so frickin' big anyways, why not slap another G4 in there for good measure? I'm sure battery usage would be of concern, but it sure would be the final blow in replacing a PowerMac with a PowerBook.
What chafes my drawers is that fact that we're looking to increase capacity and not reliability. Isn't the average life span of a hard drive only about 5-7 years? What ever happend to solid state storage??
Wonder if they're only on automobile tires. I'll be damned if I'm going to give up the Pilot Sports. Best motorcycle tire by far. Even if they did implant RFIDs in them, they'd probably go haywire at 150+ MPH when I ride with my friends.
"Let's face it. They know there's a lot of demand for broadband simply because of the availability (of file-sharing)," Rosen said.
Actually, my reason for getting broadband over 3 years ago was because Team Fortress 2 and Duke Nukem Forever were supposed to come out. That sure didn't work out too well...

...reputation systems (karma?)
Oh god, Karma-whoring email... what'll they think of next?
... should have a little sticker on the side that says "Hollywood Inside".
Freedom of speech does not equal freedom to harass.

why only simplify installation? How about simplifying software maintenance?
Maybe Lance Bass can mail himself up?
Maybe somebody could "accidently" send him into deep space?
Still waiting for a good .a or .g PCMCIA card for the Ti-Book. Anybody know of one?
You (don't) have mail!

Soon enough you'll see Google Switcher ads...
Transmeta also has another low-power processor in the works code named "Elroy". More details as they become available...

That guy's computer desk is even messier than mine!
Fucking Lag...

Yes I know it was offtopic, but still.
Must be hard for Jack to find parts for his steam-powered car...

You weren't in India a few months ago, were you?
Time to meet some new friends??
