Good luck with that. I really hope that Obama's presidency comes out as good a people think it will. I'm not so sure myself. I just don't see where Obama will have any near the level of support in congress to pull off his plans. He just hasn't been a political animal long enough.
I remember Jimmy Carter. He came in with pretty much the same promises that Obama has. Problem with him, like Obama, is he didn't have the political clout to pull it off. What we had was pretty much a lame duck in the Whitehouse for 4 years. That is what I see Obama's presidency is going to be about.
For the record I'm throwing my vote in with the libertarian party this time around.
Damn straight. We can finally get this 4 year arse fucking on the road. Bush has been warming us up for the last 8 years. Maybe this one will bring some lube.
I picked one of these up a few months ago and used to carry it every where I went. Here is some fun you can have with the bitch.
I was in the local best buy near the dvds across from the Wall of TV's and waited for the sales droid to turn every one of them on. I pulled this little toy out, pointed it, and all the tv magically went off. The look on the sales monkey's face was worth the price of admission. The real joy is seeing how many times the dumb ass will turn them back on before he catches on. For me it was twice. The local walmart never did catch on.
It's a REPUBLIC, not a democracy. What matters is to uphold the laws that ensure protection of the individual, not "majority rules".
Which is why the current system is bullshit. This one man/woman, one vote is crap. The Founding Fathers never intended for every Tom, Dick, and Harry to vote. They intended for educated land owners to have this right. It was done this way on the theory that if they had something at stake they would be responsible voters.
We should restore this but extend it to educated individuals with the basic skills to read and write. This way people would know the issues because they could get them from several sources and not just what the talking idiot box tells them. If informed people voted instead of the masses then you wouldn't get people who have no clue what they are doing or have the skills to carry out their agenda. You also wouldn't have hordes of idiots voting for someone just because of the color of his skin.
It also depends on who you know and who you are. When my company wanted to have some lines activated, the physical lines where available, to one our branches bellsouth told us it would take 2 to 3 weeks to get it done. The where not going to budge on it ether, 2 week min, and all that had to be done was some paper work and switch flipped.
A call the same day from our parent corp. that owns a shit load of bellsouth stock had the line turned on in an hour.
That is why you wouldn't use one or two satellites in geostationary or polar orbits around the moon. You would use clusters of satellites in low orbits so that way no matter where you are on the moon there will be at least two or three satellites in your line of site.
These satellites could serve several purposes. They could be really communication satellites from earth to any point on the mooon or moon to any point on the moon. The could be the equivalent of a lunar version of the gps.
Since there is no atmosphere on the moon they can be put into lower orbits than those of earth. They could also have camera's and detectors to find mineral deposits and water on the moon. A small batch of 6 to 12 satellites should do the job.
This might not be as far out as you think. One of the running rumors is that if Obama wins he plans to cut back on big science, such as space travel, and put it more into social programs.
There is also more bullshit in that statement than meets the eye. Power cycling a system can cause failure if you have cheap soldering or marginal parts. Powering up a system causes it to heat up, things expand when they heat up. If you have a solder joint that isn't done right the expanding and contracting will cause it to break eventually. I've actually seen surface mounted parts fall off a board because of shotty soldering.
Yeah, true the real problem was shotty soldering but the heating cycles helped it along.
Oh I see. Yet another reason why CRT are better than LCDs.
Yes, that maybe true but the number of advantages that LCDs give you far outweighs any advantage that a CRT has over them. The primary is that they still make them.
Bash by all accounts is damn decent Unix shell. All though they might be showing their age ksh and sh are too. The shells are not responsible for those "cryptic" 2-4 letter commands you chorale about. Those are actual programs and are quite independent of the shell.
Advice: If you don't understand what you are playing with you need to stay in your sandbox and not play with big boy toys.
Mod me as flamebait if you like but you know I'm damn right.
But it can be! That is the great thing about open source. Now I'm going to go introduce it into the companies general error table and see if anyone notices.
It maybe an incredible piece of hardware alright but to bad no one ever though that it might do to much. A fiend of mine compared the PS3 to a computer. Every time he wanted to load a game on it, it had to go out and get patches. He says because of that he only plays his Xbox now. The sony is a BR player and that is it.
I don't want a jack of all trades, or a game console trying to be a high end home theater. I want a game machine. I want to put in a game an play it with out it having to connect to the internet to see if it legal or if there are any patches.
Tell me about it. An its only right 5 mins at a time. Someone got screwed. I have a walmart clock that I paid 15 bucks for that is more accurate than that.
Since you mention it, I guess it is "Jewish" style humor I don't because I'm not really a fan of anything you listed. With the possible exception of Woody Allen. I don't really hate Woody Allen I like some of his stuff and I don't like some of it. But then I also don't just simply hate all Jewish humor. I love Mel Brooks.
t will only further reduce his chances for getting laid
Not at all. If the kid as any real brains and makes it to market with this thing and it prove marketable he'll easily amass a small fortune. With that kind of scratch he can easily have his pick of any number of willing women, for 250 an hour.
I've always said they best pussy you can get you pay cash for.
Good luck with that. I really hope that Obama's presidency comes out as good a people think it will. I'm not so sure myself. I just don't see where Obama will have any near the level of support in congress to pull off his plans. He just hasn't been a political animal long enough.

Works good in walmart and circuit city too.

Voting should be a privilege, and not a right.

Speaking only for myself, possibly more than a few will agree with me, but "Horse Shit!"
Thank you, drive through....
Then answer "(scientology|riaa|mpaa|maffia) legal department".....

Remember when people got elected for what really matters?
Yeah, I remember that. Around 290, Athens I think. It was given up as a bad idea in 291.

Same here. I checked about a dozen random ones and none showed up owned by Kentucky.

because they're usually bug-eyed, sweating, twitching, and frequently high
Based on that alone they would be catching a lot of nerds out on the first date too.
Save you some money and get you a Palm TX. They are only 199 if you shop around and do so much more than a sony reader.

You mean because Microsoft has never had any issues with crappy DRM schemes?
No, because it's not a fucking sony.
Oh.. Troll -1. Looks like my original post pissed off a few Sony fanboys.
Sounds like one more reason to buy and Xbox 360 to me. Of course just having the name Sony on it was enough of a reason also.
A trillion yen is about 9.5 billion USD or roughly 6.5 billion Euros. That sounds like a bargin to me.
Me too. I'll write them a check...
