Dude, if a person is already a closet alcoholic (drinks alone), don't you think he's got enough problems without you bringing him in out of left field to hold up as an example in a completely unrelated conversation?
Besides, I don't drink alone. In the words of George, "Me and my good buddy Weiser, that's all I ever need.".
Despite what half of the comments here would like to argue against, the article makes NO negative claims about intelligence level. Rather they're claiming it effects the emotions of a person.
Whether or not you agree to the EULA, the MS disabling and what-not still takes place - you just didn't "agree" to it. In order for this to have any benefit whatsoever you'd need to actually sue them, and considerring that you'd have to admit to circumventing the EULA in the process, and the simply fact that you'd be going up against MS lawyers, this wouldn't do any good either.
How many people are going to completely duck the patch, and choose alternate ways to secure their WMP machine? (ie. Take your WMP machine off the network; Just don't use WMP anymore; etc....)
From the article : "I'm not saying this is a good or a bad thing," he added. "I'm not writing this to voice my opinions. My concern is the way that the industry looks at the success of a musician or of a record that sells or doesn't sell. Popular artists traditionally sold a lot of records. In the future that might not be the case. In fact, even now that might not be the case. Pink outsells Weezer in the States not so much because she's more popular, but because her fans are more likely to buy, as opposed to burn, her CDs."
Ok sure, every XBox sold makes M$ lose however much money. But after that you'll still own an XBox. This will be a genuine Bad Thing(tm) if that person only ever plays MAME on it, or only ever uses burned games (if you have MAME, you have a modchip); but how many people won't "Just" go pick up HALO? Or "Just" go pick up Gotham Racing? (I can't think of any other games at the moment.) I'd guess that the number of people who could resist "just one" game would be the minority. And what happens (if/when) they start putting out more than a just few good games, and people who already have the system because of MAME start buying "just a few more".... I don't think this is as bad for Microsoft as some of us would like to believe.
You learn important lessons. That if you ever get a dodge viper, putting in the most powerful NA Tune-up makes it pretty much undrivable.
Remember that the next time you're modding your Viper in RL.
Yes, the sound file as posted sounds like a boring water bubble; but keep in mind that they sped it up 16 times normal speed.
Try slowing it down (Window's Sound Recorder will do this, for anyone running a win-box looking for an easy solution). Even at 4x slower (4x faster than it's natural speed) it starts to sound like "something", but gets extremely hard to hear. Turn your volume and bass way up.
It's actually pretty cool. I envy anyone who's got the Sub that can hear it at normal speed.
Is it a "Monster"? Maybe, probably not. But it doesn't sound like a water bubble at normal speed.

...From ICANN to UCANT.
All of them.
... Is that wrong?...

What's your solution?
