We seem to have a very similar taste in games. I also liked Startopia, the Myst series and love Neverwinter Nights.
I also play console games - I'm a huge Mario fan - and generally prefer platform games like Spyro, Crash Bandicoot and Rayman although I loved Secret of Mana (SNES).
The job is actually not far away from me but I'm not interested in testing - I prefer coding.
I think one of the problem I have with finding new games is that I'm not a huge fan of anything 'military-related' or overly violent.
