That's not a problem here in Finland. This is so small country, that after the local high school (btw. not a high school) it doesn't matter if my frieds go to different universities (except when moving to another country). We can still see each other because of short distances.
That's my biggest concern if online play ever comes to the GameCube. Will Smash Bros. 3 have too much lag?
My biggest concern is if the online version of Super Smash Bros. is as fun as the original SSBM with a couple of friends yelling next to you when you throw them out from the stage over and over again. Online gaming is not for consoles, the better solution is four game pads and some friends playing with you.
