Troll or truth... that is the question... I was going to consider installing BSD but I got very concerned after reading that site, seeing this story and reading a few BSD forums regarding hardware support. It would apear (and this is my conclusion only) that hardware support is lacking and that BSDs remain less than adequately resourced on more recent hardware (at least for now). I installed Arch instead...

I thought a lot of BSD engineers are working on Apple projects (project Darwin, for example)... Therefore, they are not really 'voluntary hobbyists' in the traditional sense...

Unfortunately, we do live in the age of terrorism. When you are talking about freedom of speech, there are boundaries and when you endanger someone else, you have gone over the boundary. Government does not need to know my personal life - that is the freedom of speech. I can dislike the goverment. But information about killing the president - that is a bit too much. I think the guy is pretty lucky he got only one year, don't you?

OK, maybe these guys don't like the work marketing, but how about promotion? A different slant on the same topic... Big boys do a pretty good job at demonstrating how to do things thir way (take Apple, for example)... So maybe BeOS should put some sucess stories, how to do things BeOS way, what tools are available for this or that, and if there isn't one, then write the damn thing... If you want to create a successful OS, then measure yourself against predetermined standards, for godsakes!!! I would like to believe that is what we are doing in GNU/Linux worldmaty least (or am I wrong?).... just my 2c....
