  1. How Google can make money on Ambiguity Drives Google's Valuation · · Score: 2, Interesting

As of right now, some people here are questioning how Google could be profitable. Well, while looking around here, I was reminded when Google when down due to a DNS error and how many people were running around like chickens with their heads cut off. I realized that not only has Google gotten immense usage, but have become vital to everyday life. That being said, what they could do is do more of what they have been doing: licensing their APIs for commercial use. If you consider the fact that they have been known for the most part being not only stable but well known, a product with "Google Inside" might get better recognition than something built by another. As of right now, they are building their company. I'm betting it will not be long till we see products using the Google APIs for commercial use. Consider that the landscape of computing is changing from static to dynamic and from PC to set top boxes. So, while none of Google innovations seem profitable in the short term, looking further out into the apparent trend in the way people use computers could show how Google will make some money and become profitable well into the future.

  2. Re:Moderate: Unfunny on Hitchhiker's Guide Reviewed · · Score: 2, Interesting

Personal I thought it was great, but one of my friends who had not read the book or had any other interaction with H2G2 had said it was funny at parts but dragged at others. Looking back, I can see where she got that. I think if they had cut out the whole romantic element, they could have done it. Loved everyone in the movie, even Mos Def. Sam Rockwell was great at Zaphod.. he just acted so vain, which would be Zaphod :). But in the end, the friend liked it. I think that one must remeber that it is an adaptation and things will be left out. Even in movies like Lord of the Rings things were left out. I think what it boils down to is that if you're a real stickler for accuracy, you'll find anything wrong.

  3. Re:The list gets longer on Xbox 2 To Be Unveiled on MTV May 12 · · Score: 1

honestly, I tend to agree on some points. I am somewhat of a console person, but I just don't feel the spark when it comes to the Xbox 2. I think its becuase they have yet to acheive the full pontential of the Xbox itself and I feel that releasing another system so soon would be a bit of an issue.

  4. Re:Hollywood I trusted you! on Hitchhiker's Movie is Bad, says Adams Biographer · · Score: 1

see for me, what made me hopefull on this movie was the internet only trailer, on Ifilms done in a Guide esque entry on a movie trailer (which has British accents). But , regardless of reviews, I'm going to be viewing it. Don't Panic.

Only problem with that would be money issue. For there to be permanent kills would drastically effect the people playing the game, there by making less and less users. This was one item that plagued Ultime Online and which made Origins form "PvP free" zones as new players would not even bother playing. I think the way to fix this is the Final Fantasy Online form, though it has issues to. Maybe something more adavanced like your chareter is on one server or something and then is placed into the world, but I would think this would be probably slower.

Personaly, I wouldn't mind watching the Super Mario Bros. Super Show. But overall, I am ashamed to have used Comcast at one point. Oh well, I hope the hosts at least get something out of this. Who knows, maybe they'll make their own station (wishful thinking).

  8. Hard to Beleive on Chip Firm Hit By 45-Year-Old Patent · · Score: 1

Sorta funny that it took them 45 years to actualy get a patent and just recently enforce it. Oh well, guess that's how the world works.
