I don't think they are talking about a cat that is definitely a leopord or a puma. I thought they were saying it could be a relative of one or some subclass of one. But then again, I'm an idiot, so don't listen to me.
Going to MIT, and having the power to assign these domains to people's computers, you would be surprised at the kind of stuff that gets through. MIT administration really has nothing to do with it. If a sub-domain has not been previously registered, then someone can claim it. About the only thing that wouldn't get through usually is a racist name or slang. But the bottom line is that MIT really doesn't see every computer name that goes through the system and I really don't think they care. That is one of the great things about being here. You can say what you want, and you along are responsible for what you say.
Don't these have gigabit ethernet? I think a T3 would be kinda weak for these. Might as well go all out and get the full gigabit lines to the machines and then just get a ton of OC-48 or so lines to those. A T3 wouldn't come close to maxing these out at 45 Mb/s.
It's not that I wouldn't enjoy the PVR with the cable box, it's just that knowing cable companies, it is more about being able to justify charging more, when they already charge in the 1-2 kidney range for service.
Time Warner and other cable companies need to spend less time thinking of more features they can charge for and instead find ways to bring better service for lower prices. Once they figure that out, then they should move on to more features. I know in Boston cable can be 60 bucks a month for basic service.
Yeah, that is definitely true. Microsoft would probably toss a couple billion dollars into an attempt at demolishing the GPL. If they actually did try that though, some people from around here would probably blow up Redmond.

Actually, it's six books, not three. But you are right, it is just convention now to publish it as three books.

Is a Microsoft flavor of Linux coming? It could be this week's sign of the Apocalypse.
