  4. I taped the first 3 episodes on Simpsons on the Silver Screen · · Score: 0

Anticipating a hit with Simpsons after seeing them on the Tracy Ullman show back in the 80's or whenever, I actually taped the first 3 episodes but stopped after that as they sucked. The first season of the Simpsons was crap. After that, everything was brilliant comedy and I love it!

  5. From all the comments, it seems Mandrake is best! on Red Hat 8.0 Released · · Score: 0
From all the comments I see here, it seems that Mandrake is overtaking Redhat in every respect. That's fine by me... I already switched to Mandrake back in the Redhat 5.2 days.

If you are a desktop user and don't want any hardware configuration problems, etc... and you just want it to work... go with Mandrake!

A good site must not contain any pop-ups or be full of crap.... must only have good free porn.

http://jedit.org The best free, open-source, cross-platform, programmer's text editor available!!! I switched from UltraEdit and TextPad to jEdit about 2 years ago. I code for a living. jEdit is awesome! Customizable to the extreme baby!

Wouldn't moving the /usr/bin/gcc command to a backup file stop these worms from spreading? Move it back only temporarily when you need to "make" something.

Often you want to copy and paste a URL from somewhere into your browser location field... but what happens when you highlite the current URL in the location field to erase it? It gets copied! Argh... you always have to backspace out the old URL to middle click and paste the other. That's stupid.

Just glancing at the title I thought it had something to do with rivalry between Linux Torvalds and Bill Gates.

  13. Why is nobody developing an alternate for X? on A Linux User Goes Back · · Score: 1

I mean, it seems that a lot of the problem is that X11 is an out-dated windowing system. Why doesn't the open-source community begin building a new lean, mean windowing system. Maybe they could even make some sort of emulator software to run X/KDE/Gnome apps until people started to develope for the new windowing system.

Why buy a $799 iMac when I can get a much more powerful PC clone for between $500 - $600? iMacs screens are too small also.

I've been using a variation on the atkins diet for a while now and yes it does work... I agree that the main problem is having to eat out because nobody makes dishes that are low-carb, high-protein.

  16. Things you need to give up on Scientific Battlegrounds in Diets · · Score: 1

Pasta - yup, this one is a biggie... you can still eat it but not to the point were you feel bloated Bread - easy, cut down and switch to whole wheat breads Cereal - go with high fibre cereal with no extra sugars added Pizza - this is still OK occasionally, once again, try to get pizza with not much crust All sugar filled softdrinks are out. All cakes and candies are out. If you need sweets, try to stick with things that have naturally occurring sugars. I have started this way of eating and have stuck to it for over a month now and I have lost 10 lbs so far and I don't feel like I'm starving myself. Giving up pasta and sweets was the hardest for me... but after a few weeks you lose the craving for them.
