Ofcourse that is what the spindoctors will make them say: they have been doing it all along to show the evils of patenting. but if they're not saying it now, I will not believe them.

I disagree with you I guess. the big strength of X is the ability to choose your own look and feel. windoze annoys me because of the complete lack to set my own feel to the GUI, so I am a strong advocate for choice. choice in wm, apps, editors (even emacs if you are so inclined). I don't like to be forced to use some distro's favourite wm, I like to change it to my own tastes.

Indeed.. it should in this case not be the owners of the cars. Rather, this would be a GRAVE mistake by either the cardealer

This would equate to not the company being responsible per se, but rather those who
    supply/setup the servers and software.
On a sidenote.. the FBI in this? I'd say this is like 700 people picketing in front of some store,

1 small thing: some members of the iguana family CAN change colour. in particular some of the species of the iguana-family 'anolis' are quite capable of changing colour, even though over a more limited range.for instance the green anolis (anolis carolinensis), which is indigenous in the US, can change colour between green and brown. Also, it has the climbing abilities of the gecko with it's 'sticky' feet. The iguana family is quite a large one, with quite huge differences in size, the smallest iguanas are about 20 cm, the largest can reach sizes over 1 meter (all including tail) The iguana you probably are referring to is the largest one(I don't know the name in english I fear. translated from dutch: green iguana). it lives in the trees, but it eats mainly fruit. It does not need to be fast, fruit won't run away.

sounds like a decent idea, except I do not agree with the donations thing. This may not be such a good idea for schoolbooks. The way I see it, schoolbooks should be free of commercial messages, even voluntary donations to a good cause. schoolbooks should be neutral and unbiased. If this is done for the MLK legacy, the same can be done for less 'worthy' causes.. things like Hitler's speeches. Senator McCarthy's speeches. etc. One can include some 'Write here for more info' but I would strongly urge to keep the3 information unbiased.

hmm.. It sounds like a nice idea.. but I am not sure popularity is a good measure. Something like.. opera will never be as popular as say.. britney spears. Furthermore I think this still puts too much power in the hands of the musicindustry's giants. Power which I think should be with the artist. I don't pretend to have all the answers, but the attempts of the corporate giants to control what we can use to play, where, and when need to be stopped IMO.
