That's the size of just about all Raspberry Pi disk images... they contain a full Linux and application stack. The Thing System seems to be based on node.js which is included in their image. Raspberry Pi's can be bought for $25 and you can hook up keyboards, monitors, etc. for configuration and management. 4GB SD memory cards are cheap ($7) (or you can splurge and get an 8GB card for $8). OpenWRT is fine for managing routers but this application calls for something more.
True. You are right. However, in the US, most people look at any government interference (such as campaign contributions/bribes, regulations, anti-trust, etc.) as interference with their beloved "free market".
This is just the way capitalism works in the US. Corporations buy politicians (and get rid of politicians who don't go along with their program). The free market is wonderful. USA is number 1 !!!!
This Romanian compound appears to contain only salts and this protein from a sea worm. It should be considered to be no different than an ordinary IV solution from the J Witnesses' viewpoint. The hemerythrin protein would be similar to albumin (another protein).
However, we are dealing with religious beliefs here where people can make up all kinds of crazy stuff so hard to predict.
I, too, am lamenting the coming demise of iGoogle and I am only 65! However, I don't consider it a disaster... more like a shoulder shrug. I think I can survive without it.
Sounds like they finally realized that they were wrong and are trying to fix the worst abuses of the law. I think we should allow people to admit they were wrong and try to make amends. (Not that I expect any long term fundamental improvement from these sleazy bastards.)
Please learn something before you go spouting ignorance. Start with Wikipedia: "a ballast limits the current in an electric circuit". You are talking about voltage, ballasts limit current. If you don't know the difference between voltage and current, do a little research. LEDs use voltage regulators. Florescent and gas discharge lights use a ballast to limit current. They are different. Voltage and current... it's not complicated but it does require some education. You cannot just wave your arms and mumble a lot of words and pretend they are the same.
This is an interesting ongoing debate... Do you trust technology companies or car companies to make better technology driven cars? Judging from what I have seen from car companies trying to do technology, I would give their technology low scores. Most of them are a day late and a dollar short when it comes to technology. Last Audi I purchased came with lots of expensive state of the art (from two years earlier) technology... I was not impressed.
Nice! I upgraded to Mavericks the day it came out (I know, risky move but so far, very impressed... especially memory management and battery life). I just checked the App store for iMovie on my older MacBook Air and it offered me a free update of the "09" version which came with my machine. iMovie is just about the only Apple software which I really like and use a lot so I'm happy to have the update.
Very insightful comment. It is always difficult to remain free of despots (local or foreign, military or economic). There seems to be a natural tendency to accumulate power and to abuse that power. The US and the Internet is just the latest revision of that story. I, too, am pessimistic about any long term ability to remain free and keep the spirit of the revolution alive. Perhaps it is best to be like a small Scandinavian country which can enjoy their "social democratic" society with strong socialist support systems and the ability to keep some degree of autonomy. For those of us in the USA, I don't know what to do. The system is so corrupted by money that we have a near fascist state and there is little hope of correction from our bought and paid for politicians.
We don't send jackbooted thugs to most countries (just a few special "problem" locations... in the last 10 years, for example, Iraq, Afghanistan, Haiti, Libya plus about 700 military bases in other countries). What we have today is called Neocolonialism: From Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neocolonialism : Neocolonialism (also Neo-colonialism) is the geopolitical practice of using capitalism, business globalization, and cultural imperialism to influence a country, in lieu of either direct military control or indirect political control, i.e. imperialism and hegemony.[1] The term neo-colonialism was coined by Ghanaian president Kwame Nkrumah, to describe the socio-economic and political control that can be exercised economically, linguistically, and culturally, whereby promotion of the culture of the neo-colonist country facilitates the cultural assimilation of the colonised people and thus opens the national economy to the multinational corporations of the neo-colonial country.
There is no ballast in an LED light. Fluorescent and sodium vapor lights have ballasts, not LEDs. All of the traffic lights in my area were switched to LEDs many years ago. I have never seen a single light that wasn't working properly.
I'm not familiar with the dynamics of this situation but it seems to me that if there is a not drunk person who could pass the test that they would logically be the one to drive the car. I do, however, understand that "logic" doesn't always apply in these situations.
I am sorry. I don't play games so I'm not familiar with Cube 2 (I assume now that Skippy is a character in that game). So yes, I completely missed it... no cookies.
Not so intelligent.
At the rate we are going, the planet will be uninhabitable for human species in a few hundred years.

... but it would be really hard to put the MacBook back together on arrival.

This watch seems to do everything your require either as an interface to your phone or as a standalone phone.

I thought that only cheap watches used standard bands.
All the fancy expensive watches I've seen have custom bands.
I lived in Cincinnati (Ohio Valley) for a few years and we definitely had tornadoes.
I moved.

Great! Then we only get science that our corporate overlords want to know... and they would never have any bias.

Yes, I agree with you completely.
My comment was meant as sarcasm but that probably wasn't clear.
Why do you hate the free market?
Everybody can make their own standard and just let the consumers sort it out (or not).

A "power supply" is not a "ballast". Look it up. You may have some point about something but for now, you are only making yourself look ignorant.

This camera is also only for Apple pad/pod/phone users and these people don't really worry about security. They are happy with security by obscurity.
I don't think hydrogen would offer much competition but he should look out for this guy:
